My Trip To Köln

 A few weeks ago I did a mini-city trip to Köln. There are a variety of Christmas markets with each their own theme (eg. Angels, craft, the port,...). We also visited the Dome and El Da Haus, but of course the Christmas markets were the highlight of the trip. Besides Gluwein and drinking coco we also entered the skating rink. I must admit that it was harder than l remembered from the past and I also fell once haha. Still it was fun!        * Enkele weken geleden deed ik een mini citytrip naar Köln. Er zijn daar verschillende kerstmarkten met elks met een eigen thema (bv. engelen, ambacht, de haven,...). We bezochten ook nog de Dom en El Da Haus, maar natuurlijk waren de kerstmarkten het hoogtepunt.

Besides Gluwein and drinking coco we also entered the skating rink. I must admit that it was harder than l remembered from the past and I also fell once haha. Still it was fun!         * Naast glühwein en chocomelk drinken, betraden we ook de schaatsbaan. Ik moet toegeven dat het moeilijker was dan ik mij nog herinnerde van vroeger en ik viel dus ook één keer met veel schaamte op de grond haha. Het was het heel leuk!

More memories form 2014/2015

Before I finished my exams and before I will inundate you with fun creative posts, I still wanted to show some pictures from two events I visited around Christmas / New Year's period. Hopefully you like my stories; I promise it will be the last time (for a long period) I will make these kind of blog post. *Voor ik mijn examens beëindig en jullie zal overspoelen met leuke creatieve posten wilde ik toch nog enkele foto's tonen van twee evenementen die ik rond de kerst/nieuwjaarsperiode bezocht. Hopelijk houden jullie van mijn vertellingen; ik beloof alvast dat het de laatste keer zal zijn voor een lange tijd dat ik zulke berichtjes zal maken.
 

One thing I never want to miss for the Christmas / exam period starts, is the opening of the Christmas market. Every year it is a great spectacle, this time with music performances, theater, pretty singing giantesses ... You name it; it was great! *Één ding dat ik nooit wil missen voor de kerst / examenperiode start, is de opening van de kerstmarkt. Het is elk jaar een groot spektakel, deze keer met muziek optredens, theater, mooie zingende reuzinnen,... Noem maar op; het was af!

Also between the exams I visited another event with my boyfriend. It was nice to relax and watch these beautiful scenes made of silk and lights. These Chinese people can do amazing things; something I had never seen! *Ook tussen de examens door bezocht ik een ander evenement met mijn vriend. Het was leuk om een avondje aan niets te denken en te kijken naar deze prachtige taferelen gemaakt van zijde en lichtjes. Die chinezen kunnen er wat van; zoiets had ik nog nooit gezien!

Christmas Memory 1: Ice Dreams

ENG: I will not have time during the Christmas holidays to make a December Daily (a daily Christmas photo diary), because of my exams. That's why I decided to share some memorable Christmas moments on my blog. Today I show you my day trip with one of my best friends; Katleen.

 NL: Omdat ik vanwege mijn examens geen tijd zal hebben om tijdens de Kerstvakantie een December Daily (een dagelijkse kerst fotodagboek) te maken, besloot ik enkele memorabele kerstmomenten op mijn blogje met jullie te delen.Vandaag toon ik jullie graag mijn daguitstapje met één van mijn beste vriendinnen; Katleen.

ENG: Together we visited the "Disneyland Paris - Ice Dream", where ice sculptors' mimicked Disney scenes. It was fun to see how all of this ice has been converted to fairy figures.

NL: Samen bezochten we het "Disneyland Paris - Ice Dream", waar ijskunstenaars allerlei Disney taferelen nabootsten. Het was leuk om te zien hoe al dit ijs tot feeërieke figuurtjes zijn omgebouwd.

 

ENG: The temperature of this spot was held constant at -6°C. That was pretty cool, especially since I had been smart enough not to take gloves. Fortunately Katleen was so kind to lend one glove, so it was cold for both of us lol.

NL: De temperatuur van deze plek werd voortdurend op -6°C gehouden. Dat was best wel koud, vooral omdat ik zo slim was geweest om geen handschoenen mee te nemen. Gelukkig was Katleen zo lief om één handschoen uit te lenen, zo hadden we allebei kou lol.

ENG: I'm glad we did this trip, it gave a boost to my Christmas mood. Now I'm totally looking forward to the Christmas season; let it snow, hang ornaments and drink mulled wine, but first the Saint Nicolas has to come. I can see already I'm on the nice list lol.
NL: Ik ben blij dat we dit uitstapje deden, het gaf een boost aan mijn kerstmood. Nu heb ik helemaal zin in de kerstdagen; laat die sneeuw, kerstballen en gluhwein maar komen, maar eerst moet de Sint nog komen. Ik sta alvast op de goede lijst zie ik hihi.

ENG: Just a little post for today. The last days seems so hard to
concentrate for the last exam (it's about research on social work in the city's).
I can't explain how much I look forward to free time after more than a
month learning, only seeing the office and have nothing from sports; aww
yes it's that bad over here lol... luckily I can laugh with it.

Anyway I thought to share some of my favorite songs I like to hear when
I'm taking swinging pauses:

NL: Een klein berichtje vandaag. De laatste dagen lijken veel te moeilijk

om mezelf te concentreren voor het laatste vak (stedelijk onderzoek sociaal
werk). Ik kan je niet uitleggen hoeveel ik uitkijk naar een beetje vrije tijd; iets
anders dan leren, kijken naar een bureau en geen sport doen; aww ja het is
hier zo erg... hihi gelukkig kan ik er mee lachen.

Anyway, ik wil jullie snel even mijn favoriete liedjes delen, die ik hoor

I'm Back

I'm back!!

My top 3 picutes of the vacation are:

 1 - GR 20
The view on the mountains in de morning while walking
(7a clock). Unfortunately we only walked 3 stages, because we
encountered a record of rainwater.

 2 - Family graves
The inhabitants of Corse bury people in family graves, I think 
it's a nice way of remembering your siblings.

3 - Corsican nature
After walking we just enjoyed the nature and sun from the
beachchair.

I told you about the questions I had to answer during my vacation.

Here they are:

• What are you reading right now? Trotter, to see what we are going to do tomorrow
• What's the best part of today? Getting the train to Vizzavona (GR 20), with beautiful mountain views.
•  What is my mission today? survive the first stage and hold the motivation for the next day 
• What was the last restaurant you went to? Just before we went on vacation and I'm missing this (the food is iewk potato and beans and meat as e stew).
• Today was tough because? We had no breakfast and we only walked in the rain and wind.
• Was today typical? (Why or why not?) We stopped the GR20 because of the rain and we only  hiked down of the mountain.
• Write down something that inspired you today. To arrive in Bonafacio, it immidiatly gave a vacation-feeling; seeing the sun!
• On a scale of one to ten, how was your food? 10/10 In the morning, egg with bacon (yammii). In the afternoon a baguette with some cheese  (like a real Frenchman) and in the evening Salmon with a salad
• What can you smell right now? Fresh melon (Yum)
• What's your favorite accessory? The trunk of the car we use as chair because we don't have one.
• Today you lost... the attraction of the mosquitoes  (I am full of mosquito bites, I hope it stopped by an insect spray)
• How happy are you? Medium happy, there is nothing cultural in Corse, but the beautiful nature makes things good.
• What was peaceful today? the view of the rocky cliffs from the pool.
• What was the most unique moment of the vacation? The last day of the GR20, amazing view of the mountains (see picture 1)
