Newton’s Nook STAMPtember® 2020 Exclusive Collaboration!

 Hello creative friends! I'm so excited to reveal the Stamptember set from Newton's Nook Designs.                    * Hallo creatieve vrienden! Ik ben zo blij om de Stamptember set te van Newton's Nook Designs te onthullen.

Each year in September Simon Says Stamp has fun collaborations with stamp companies. They have exclusive stamp during the whole month. Newton's Nook Designs is already for a few years part of the collaboration and this year it’s no difference.                      * Elk jaar in september heeft Simon Says Stamp leuke samenwerkingen met verschillende stempelbedrijven. Newton's Nook Designs neemt al enkele jaren deel aan de samenwerking en dit jaar is niet anders.

This year it's a fun stamp set where dogs and cats come out of pockets with fitting sentiments. How cute is that?                      * Dit jaar is het een stempel set waarbij hondjes en poezen uit broekzakken komen met passende berichtjes. Echt schattig! 

For both card I used Stencil Duo's. For that I used Distress ink and Metallix Gel from ThermOWeb.                       * Voor beide sets gebruikte ik de passende stencil duo's. Hiervoor gebruikte ik Distress Inkt en Metallix Gel van ThermOWeb.

At the end the cards where easily created by using the same card layout.                      * Uiteindelijk kwamen de kaartjes snel tot stand door dezelfde lay-out te gebruiken.

The sets are sold out very quickly this year, hopefully you could get one if you really wanted a set and otherwise I hope you enjoyed the inspiration.                      * De sets zijn snel de deur uit dit jaar, hopelijk kon jij nog eentje strikken als je er echt één wilde hebben en anders hoop ik dat je genoot van de inspiratie.

     

Sweet Tweet Valentine Cards with Deco Foil Flock

We’re just days away from Valentine’s Day so today I have two colorful cards for you to make for your “tweetie”! Sorry…had to try! You’ll find the Deco Foil Flock Transfer Sheets are the perfect product to use for your feathered friends to create added dimension and texture!                     * We zijn slechts enkele dagen verwijderd van Valentijnsdag, dus vandaag heb ik twee kleurrijke kaarten die je kunt maken voor je "tweetie"! Sorry ... ik moest het proberen! Je zult zien dat de Deco Foil Flock Transfer Sheets het perfecte product zijn voor je geveerde vrienden extra dimensie en textuur te geven!

As you could see in the first picture, I created two “love bird” cards. Both are created the same way. If you want to see a step-by-step explanation, you can find that on the ThermOWeb blog post.                     * Zoals je op de eerste foto kon zien, heb ik twee "love bird" -kaarten gemaakt. Beide zijn op dezelfde manier gemaakt. Als je een stap voor stap uitleg wil zien, bekijk dan de blogpost van ThermOWeb.

I loved the happy colors from the first card, but I also wanted to create a similar card that showed a night scene. The second card is the result of that idea. I encourage you to check out the supplies list to see all the supplies I used on both cards.                     * Ik hou van de vrolijke kleuren van de eerste kaart, maar ik wilde ook een vergelijkbare kaart maken die een nachtscène liet zien. De tweede kaart is het resultaat van dat idee. Ik moedig je aan om de lijst met benodigdheden te bekijken om alle benodigdheden te zien die ik op beide kaarten heb gebruikt.

Starburst Stencil Cards with Deco Foil Metallix

Hello everyone! Today I’m taking over the TermOWeb blog with this post for the collaboration with Joy Clair. Below I want to explain 3 fun ways how to use the Metallix Gel with stencils.                     * Hallo iedereenl! Vandaag neem ik de TermOWeb blog over met deze post voor de samenwerking met Joy Clair. Hieronder wil ik 3 leuke manieren uitleggen hoe je de Metallix Gel kan gebruiken met stencils.

As you can see on all cards I used the same ‘Starburst” stencil on and three different Metallix colors. I used the Deco Foil Metallix Gels for it: Champagne Mist, Pure Gold and Glazed Pewter. Let’s start with the first card.                      * Zoals je op alle kaarten kunt zien, heb ik hetzelfde jabloon gebruikt ('Starburst') en drie verschillende Metallix-kleuren. Ik gebruikte de Deco Foil Metallix Gels hiervoor: Champagne Mist, Pure Gold en Glazed Pewter. Laten we beginnen met de eerste kaart.


1. The Normal Way                     * 1. De normale manier
On the first card, I like to show you how we mostly use stencils and the Metallix Gel.                     * Op de eerste kaart laat ik je graag de voornaamste manier zien hoe we sjablonen en de Metallix-gel gebruiken.

It’s simply adding gel on top of a background panel. Let me explain how you get the best results.                     * Simpelweg brengen we de gel aan op een achtergrondpaneel. Laat me uitleggen hoe je het beste resultaat krijgt.

1. Cut out your background panel and give it color. I used brown Distress inks for my background.                     * 1. Snijd je achtergrondpaneel uit en geef het kleur. Ik gebruikte bruine Distress-inkt voor mijn achtergrond.

2. After coloring, I sprinkle ink and water on top of the panel. This is a step you can skip if you don’t like it, but I really like the reaction the Distress ink has on water and ink. You can also add Purple tape on the back of the paper.                     * 2. Vervolgens gooi ik spatten inkt en water over het paneel. Deze stap kan je eventueel overslaan als je het niet leuk vindt, maar ik vind de reactie van de Distress-inkt op het water en de inkt erg leuk. Ja kan hier ook paarse tape plakken aan de achterkant van je paneel.

3. The Purple Tape will assure the stencil sticks on the same place while you add the gel on the paper.                     * 3. De paarse tape zorgt ervoor dat het sjabloon op dezelfde plaats blijft zitten op het papier terwijl je de gel aanbrengt.

The card was finished with the pretty word stamps from the “Hugs and Smiles” and ”Hello” stamp set from Joy Clair. I really love the bold and elegant look of the words.                     * De kaart is afgewerkt met de mooie woordstempels van de "Hugs and Smiles" en "Hello" stempelset van Joy Clair. Ik ben echt dol op de dikke en elegante look van de woorden.


2. Apply the Metallix Inside a Shape                     * 2. Breng de Metallix in een vorm aan

This method looks like magic when you see the gel and ink appear in the middle of the card.                     * Deze methode lijkt magie wanneer de gel en inkt in het midden van de kaart verschijnt.

1. Cut a circle out of Masking Paper. Put the circle aside and stick the outside of the Masking Paper on your card base. Maybe you can see the masking paper better on the second picture.                     * 1. Snijd een cirkel uit "Masking Paper" (dat is een soort Post'it die volledig kleeft). Leg de cirkel opzij en plak enkel de buitenkant van de Masking Paper op je kaartbasis. Misschien zie je het Masking Papier beter op de tweede foto.

2. Now you can color in your circle with ink. I used black and gray Distress ink. The masking paper ensures that the rest of the paper is covered.                     * 2. Nu kun je je cirkel inkleuren met inkt. Ik gebruikte zwarte en grijze Distress-inkt. De Masking Paper zorgt ervoor dat de rest van het papier wordt bedekt.

3. When you’re happy with your colors add the Metallix Gel on top of it. I used the Pure Gold color on this piece. Afterwards you remove the masking tape.                     * 3. Als je tevreden bent met je kleuren, voeg je de Metallix-gel eraan toe. I gebruikte de Pure Gold kleur voor dit stuk. Daarna verwijder je de afplaktape.

The ‘Starburst” stencil looks like a galaxy! The Pure Gold Metallix Gel on top of the black can hereby be used for a man's birthday card.                     * De ‘Starburst’ sjabloo lijkt op een melkwegstelsel! De Pure Gold Metallix Gel bovenop de zwarte ink kan hierdoor zeker worden gebruikt voor een mannelijke verjaardagskaart.


3. Apply the Gel Outside a Shape                     * 3. Breng de gel buiten de vorm aan

On this card, we do the reverse of the previous card. Instead of having the Gel in a shape we put it outside a shape.                     * Op deze kaart doen we het omgekeerde van de vorige kaart. In plaats van de Gel in een vorm te hebben, plaatsen we hem buiten een vorm.

It’s as easy as the previous step, let me explain how it’s done:                     * Dit is even eenvoudig als de vorige kaart; laat me uitleggen hoe je dit maakt:

1. Stick the circle made out of Masking Paper on top of your card base (you can apply ink in the circle as we did on the previous card if you like that).                     * 1. Plak de cirkel van Masking Paper boven op je kaartbasis (je kunt inkt aanbrengen in de cirkel zoals we op de vorige kaart deden).

2. Again you need to color the card base with Distress ink. As the other cards, I sprinkled ink and water on top of it.                     * 2. Je zal nog een keer de kaartbasis moeten kleuren met Distress-inkt. Net als de andere van de kaarten strooide ik er inkt en water overheen.

3. Without removing the Masking Paper you add the Metallix Gel (on this card I used Glazed Pewter). Afterwards, you remove the Masking Paper.                     * 3. Zonder de Masking Paper te verwijderen, breng je de Metallix-gel aan (op deze kaart heb ik Glazed Pewter gebruikt). Daarna verwijder je de Masking Paper.

Also here the words from the two stamp sets from Joy Clair look really amazing. I love how you can mix them together.                     * Ook hier zien de woorden uit de twee stempelsets van Joy Clair er echt geweldig uit. Ik vind het tof hoe je ze kunt mixen.

That was 3 ways on how to apply the Metallix Gel with a stencil.                     * Dat waren de 3 manieren om de Metallix-gel met een sjabloon aan te brengen.
