Tips for Using Infusible Ink on Wood

Have you ever tried using Cricut Infusible Ink on wood? Well, I will show you how you can do that.                        * Heb je ooit geprobeerd om Cricut Infusible Ink op hout aan te brengen? Wel, vandaag laat ik je zien hoe je dat kan doen. 

Today, I’m using the ‘Take Me to the Ocean’ SVG File from  Printable Cuttable Creatables and Infusible Ink Transfer Sheets.                        *In deze post gebruik ik de 'Take Me to the Ocean' SVG file van  Printable Cuttable Creatables en Infusible Ink Transfer Sheets.

After you’re happy with the size of your design and the color –  load the sheet on a mat (color side up). It’s important to click the 'Mirror' slider on each mat (especially when using text). DO NOT skip this step, or your text will read backward. When you’re ready, load the mat into the machine and cut out the illustration.                        * Nadat je tevreden bent met het formaat van het ontwerp en de kleur, plaatst je het vel op de snijmat (kleurzijde naar boven). Het is belangrijk om op elke mat op de schuifregelaar 'Spiegelen' te klikken (zeker als je tekst gebruikt). Sla deze stap NIET over, anders zal je tekst achterstevoren staan. Wanneer je klaar bent, laadt je de mat in de machine en snijd deze de afbeelding uit.

Be careful not to touch the Infusible Ink Transfer Sheets too much while weeding with your hand this can remove the ink from the sheets.                        * Zorg ervoor dat je de Infusible Ink Transfer Sheets niet te veel aanraakt tijdens 'weeding' van de illustratie. Hierdoor kan de inkt van de vellen vervagen!

Preheat your heat source, I’m using an EasyPress (see the manual of your heat press for the recommended heat and time). Use butcher paper to protect your heat source from the infusible ink. The heat can also cause the ink to end up on your heat source! So use butcher paper! NOTE: Do not move your heat source after you’ve placed it on top of the wood.                        * Verwarm je warmtebron voor, ik gebruik een EasyPress (zie de handleiding van je hittepers voor de aanbevolen hitte en tijd). Gebruik bakpapier om je warmtebron te beschermen tegen de inkt. Ook kan de hitte ervoor zorgen dat de inkt op je warmtebron terecht komt! Gebruik dus bakpapier! OPMERKING: Verplaats je warmtebron niet nadat je deze op het hout hebt geplaatst.

Once completed remove the butcher paper. Let the wood cool for 1-2 minutes before peeling the backing, and now you’re all set!                        * Als je klaar bent, verwijdert je het bakpapier. Laat het hout 1-2 minuten afkoelen voordat je het inktpapier verwijdert, en nu ben je helemaal klaar!

Halloween Wood Sign with Cricut Maker

Hi there, today here on the blog and I’m excited!! In this post I will show you a totally different project than I normally do. I will be making a wood sign using the “Lil Boo Ghosts” SVG Cut Files from Printable Cuttable Creatables.                        * Hallo daar, vandaag hier op de blog en ik ben enthousiast!! In deze post laat ik jullie een totaal ander project zien dan ik normaal doe. Ik ga een houten bord maken met behulp van de "Lil Boo Ghosts" SVG Cut-bestanden van Printable Cuttable Creatables.

1.  If you want to cut wood you need a Cricut Maker and the knife blade. I’m also using Basswood from Cricut.                        * 1. Als je hout wilt snijden, heb je een Cricut Maker en het mes nodig. Ik gebruik ook Basswood van Cricut.

2. It’s very important the wooden piece stays where it is. So I recommend using a strong grip mat and taping the wood with a strong painters tape onto the mat.

If you cut wood with a Cricut machine you need to be patient, it takes long to cut true the wood. Most of the time I even let the machine cut twice in stead of once (if you do that, do not unload your mat!). It’s also very important that your computer doesn’t go on sleep mode while cutting. Otherwise you will lose your wood piece and have to start all over again.                        * 2. Het is heel belangrijk dat het hout zicht niet verplaatst tijdens het snijdens. Ik raad daarom aan om een ​​stevige gripmat te gebruiken en het hout met sterke schilderstape op de mat te plakken.

Als je hout snijdt met een Cricut-machine, moet je geduld hebben, het duurt lang om het hout door te snijden. Meestal laat ik de machine zelfs twee keer snijden in plaats van één keer (als je dat doet,unload je mat niet!). Het is ook erg belangrijk dat je computer tijdens het snijden niet in de slaapstand gaat. Anders verlies je je stuk hout en moet je helemaal opnieuw beginnen.

3. After you cut true the wood, it’s nice to sand all cute elements neatly.                        * 3. Nadat het hout is uitgesneden, is het leuk om alle schattige elementen netjes te schuren.

To let the text in the speech bubbles stand out, I used "veneer".  The only thing that is different when cutting veneer, is the blade. I changed the blade in to a “Deep Point Blade”. Next I did ink a wooden slice with dark brown ink, so it looked burned. As a final step I glued everything in place.                        * Om de tekst in de tekstballonnen goed te laten uitkomen heb ik fineer gebruikt. Het enige dat anders is bij het snijden van fineer, is het mes. Ik heb het mes vervangen door een “Deep Point Blade”. Vervolgens heb ik een houten plankje met donkerbruine inkt geïnkt, zodat het er verbrand uitzag. Als laatste stap heb ik alles op zijn plaats gelijmd.
