DIY Wedding Decor: Name Letters

Hello everyone! As you will have noticed, the wedding really comes closer. Of course I intend to make a few items for our wedding. A pol on Instagram showed that most of you also like to see wedding decorations. Today I want to show a first piece!              * Hallo iedereen! Zoals jullie wel al zullen opgemekt hebt, komt de trouw echt wel dichter bij. Natuurlijk ben ik van plan om voor onze trouw heel wat zelf te maken. Uit een pol op Instagram bleek dat de meeste onder jullie ook graag enkele trouw decoraties zien. Vandaag wil ik hiervan een eerste stuk tonen.

Around October I bought some large and small flower dies and I wanted to make felt flowers for different decarative items for the wedding. It seems weird, but it was a real quest to find beautiful green, blue and white felt. I had to accept the limited choice, but I think the colors are okay now.              * Rond oktober kocht ik enkele grote en kleine bloemsnijmallen en besloot ik dat ik vilten bloemen wilde maken voor decaratieve items voor de trouwdag. Het lijkt raar, maar het was een heuse zoektocht om wat mooie groen, blauw en witte vilt te vinden. Ik moest mij wel een beetje neerleggen bij de beperkte mogelijkheiden, maar vind de kleuren best oke nu.

When I had made all the flowers (perfectly achievable with a cheap glue gun) I found something missing. That's why I gave a few flowers a pearl and a diamond as the middle point. Outside of all my expectations I suddenly found it a lot more beautiful. That's why I really want to encourage you to try it, if you want to make felt flowers yourself.               * Toen ik alle bloemen had gemaakt waren (perfect doenbaar met een goedkoop lijmpistool) vond ik iets ontbreken. Daarom gaf ik enkele een parel en een diamantje als middenpunt. Buiten al mijn verwachtingen vond ik plots zoveel mooier. Daarom wil ik jullie echt aanmoedigen om het een keertje te proberen als je zelf ook vilten bloemen wil maken.

  

As you can see I made a flower group on every letter. I placed them so, that if the letters stand, the flowers show themselves on a diagonal line. Personally, I think that is prettier!               * Zoals je kan zien maakte ik op elke letter een bloemen-groepje. Ik probeerde ze zo te plaatsen zodat als de letters recht staan, de bloemen in een diagonale lijn getoond worden. Persoonlijk vind ik dat leuker ogen.

In the end it is the intention that they will be displayed as below. They will be put in a wooden box that we fill with straw. The photo is not at its best, but hopefully you can form an idea of it.                * Uiteindelijk is het de bedoeling dat ze zoals hieronder ongeveer zullen opgesteld staan in een kist die we met stro vullen. De foto is niet op zijn best, maar hopelijk kunnen jullie een idee vormen.

NND Release: Day 2

Did you see the awesome new products in yesterday's Newton's Nook Design first release day? Today we continue the summer feeling with two other stamp sets.                    * Heb je de geweldige nieuwe producten gezien in de eerste releasedag van Newton's Nook Design gisteren? Vandaag zetten we het zomergevoel voort met twee andere stempel sets.

First we have the yummy "Newton Summer Treats".                    * Eerst hebben we de lekkere "Newton Summer Treats".

All the images are so enormously cute, but the cool cat below won my heart the most to create a card.                    * Alle afbeeldingen zijn zo enorm schattig, maar de coole kat beneden heeft mijn hart gewonnen om een ​​kaart te maken.

 

A city scene looked perfect for this tough guy. To make it funny I made the popsicle in pink and orange.                    *  De kat omringd in een stat leek voor mij perfect voor deze stoere vent. Om het grappig te maken kleurde ik de ijslolly in het roze en oranje.

Ofcourse we have also a second stamp and die set; the "Cozy Camper" set.                    * Natuurlijk hebben we ook een tweede stempel en die set; de "Cosy Camper" set.

This camper looks so nice and it really does make me think of a trip my boyfriend, his mother and me did. It was obvious we never did a campertrip before. There is a story with a light that burned in the toilet room. My boyfriend did not know that that meant that there was a pot full of something... I will spare you for the rest of the story hahaha.                    * Deze camper ziet er zo mooi uit en het doet me echt aan een vakantie denken die mijn vriend, zijn moeder en ik deden. Het was duidelijk dat we dat nooit eerder hadden gedaan zo'n kamper trip. Er is zo een verhaal van een lichtje dat brandt in de toiletruimte. Mijn vriend wist niet dat dit betekende dat er een pot vol was met iets... De rest van dat verhaal bespaar ik jullie hahaha.

So I want to save this card for the mother of my boyfriend to write down the funny story again.                    * Deze kaart wil ik dus zeker opsparen voor de moeder van men vriend om het grappige verhaal nog eens neer te schrijven.

Canvas Qoute

Hello there!! This weekend we did move the last big elements by truck to our new house. Sindce I didn't had so much time to craft lately with the move, I obligated my self to craft something. I saw a video from my friend Nina-Marie (click here to see the video) and suddenly had to create something with a canvas for my craft room (it was waiting on a project for years).                * Hallo iedereen!! Dit weekend was het de laatste verhuis van de grotere spullen. Omdat ik door de verhuis niet veel tijd had tegenwoordig had ik zaterdag e toegelegd om nog eens creatief te zijn. Ik zag een video van Nina-Marie (klik hier om het filmpje te zien) en wist meteen dat ik een canvas moest maken voor mijn nieuwe crearuimte.

The whole process from the begining to the end was on my instagram story board, so I will not go in detail on that. Be the title was inspired by Van Gogh. I don't know if it's really from him but I found a qoute that said "I dream my painting and then I paint my dream". I thought that was so true, beautiful, inspirational and creative! I just had to use the qoute in a way that would fit my kind of art making and eventually came up with the qoute from the canvas.                * Het hele proces van begin tot eind stond op mijn instagram sory board, hierover ga ik dus niet meer in detail.De titel was geïnspireerd door Van Gogh. Ik weet het natuurlijk niet zeker of het de zijne is, maar ik vond "I dream my painting and then I paint my dream'. Ik vond het zo echt, mooi, inspireren en creatief! Ik moest hem dus ook echt gebruiken mits enige aanpassing zodat het paste voor mijn scrap-kamer.

NND Release: Day 4

Welcome at our last release day from Newton’s Nook Design.  This blogpost is acctually split in two, because we have two new sets today and I have a ton cards to show!             * Welkom op onze laatste releasedag van Newton's Nook Design. Deze blogpost is in tweeën gesplitst, want we hebben vandaag twee nieuwe sets en ik heb een hoop kaartjes om te tonen!

The first part of this post focus on the “Newton Loves Boxes” stamp and coordinating dies.             * Het eerste deel van deze post concentreert zich op de "Newton Loves Boxes" stempel en coördinerende snijmall set.

This stamp set couldn’t come earlier; A lot of the design team members are moving, including me. Yesterday my boyfriend and I got the key to our new home (YAY). It’s the first time we buy a house, so it’s a pretty big deal for us. We both want to introduce ourselves to the new neigthbours with a card and some information.             * Deze stempel set kon niet eerder komen; veel van de leden van het ontwerpteam gaan verhuizen, inclusief mezelf. Gisteren kregen mijn vriend en ik de sleutel voor ons nieuwe huis (YAY). Het is de eerste keer dat we allebei een huis hebben gekocht, dus het is een vrij grote spektakel voor ons. We willen ons beiden voorstellen aan de buren met een kaartje.

The background is made on an embossed background in a pretty scalloped frame from the new “Framework” die set. Each time I used a stencil with embossing paste, distress ink and a "Land Border" die as background (see below for a more detailed supplies list).             * De achtergrond is gemaakt met reliëf in een mooi geschulpte frame van de nieuwe "Framework"stans. Telkens gebruikte ik een stencil met embossing paste, distress inkt en een "Land Border" snijmall voor de achtergrond (zie hieronder voor een meer gedetailleerde benodigdhedenlijst).

For each card there is a different cat with a box image. Although the sentiments are just awesome I just use the same text over and over again.             * Voor elke kaart is er een andere kat met een doos. Hoewel de tekstjes geweldig zijn, gebruikte ik steeds dezelfde stempel.

 The second part of this blogpost is all about this fabulous donut stamp set;  “Newton Donut”.             * Het tweede deel van deze blogpost gaat helemaal over deze fantastische donutstempelset; "Newton Donut".

On this card I used the “Frames & flags” die set as base for my card. The background was created with white embossing powder and oxide inks. As the rest of todays images, I colored them with my Copic Markers. Glossy accents and white “Nuvo Crystal Drops” where used for the topping from the donut. The shine really makes the donut so yummy!!             * Hier gebruikte ik de "Frames & Flags" die de basis van mijn kaart zijn. De achtergrond is gemaakt met witte embossingpoeder en oxide-inkten. Zoals de rest van de kaartjes werden de afbeeldingen vandaag ingekleurd met mijn Copic Markers. Glossy accents en witte "Nuvo Crystal Drops" werden gebruikt voor de topping van de donut. De glans zorgt ervoor dat de donut er echt zo lekker uitziet!!

The finishing touch on this card is an action wobbler.             * De finishing touch op deze kaart is een action-wobbler.
