Shiny Lemon Cards!

Hello everyone!! I’m new in the ThermOWeb design team and this is my first post for them! In this post, I’m showcasing two cards for a collaboration with Kindred Stamps. Let’s jump into the details...               * Hallo allemaal!! Ik ben nieuw in het ontwerpteam van ThermOWeb en dit is mijn eerste post voor hen! In dit bericht presenteer ik twee kaarten voor een samenwerking met Kindred Stamps. Laten we erin vliegen...

For both cards I used the “Fresh Squeezed” stamp set from Kindred Stamps. The lemons on the stamp set really had my attention, because it goes so well with the “Branching Out” DecoFoil Clear Toner Sheets. That’s why started creating my first background with that toner sheet.            * Voor beide kaarten heb ik de stempel “Fresh Squeezed” gebruikt van Kindred Stamps. De citroenen van stempel set trokken mijn aandacht, omdat het perfect past met de "Branching Out" DecoFoil Clear Toner Sheets. Daarom ben ik begonnen met het maken van mijn eerste achtergrond met dat tonervel.

 

I turned my laminator on and while it was heating up I started blending green inks on watercolor paper. The background got some interest with splatters of water and dark green ink. I also colored three of the same lemon with my Copic Markers. After that I pushed the “Toner Sheet” true the laminator with “Spring Green Deco Foil”. The foil with the green background really makes me so happy! It’s just a nice bright background.            * Ik zette mijn lamineermachine aan en terwijl deze opwarmde, begon ik groene inkt op aquarel papier te mengen. De achtergrond kreeg verschil in kleur met splatters van water en donkergroene inkt. Ik heb ook drie van dezelfde citroen gekleurd met mijn Copic Markers. Daarna duwde ik de "Toner Sheet" door de lamineermachine met "Spring Green Deco Foil". De folie met de groene achtergrond maakt me echt gelukkig! Het is gewoon een mooie heldere achtergrond.

When I received all the items I laughed a lot with some of the sentiments from “Fresh Squeezed” stamp set. Of course, I had to use one of them on my card. The sentiment I use focuses on the lemons, to give that word all the attention that it needs I used more foil. I love the “Deco Foil – Toner Sheets” to foil extra elements. After that, I played with the position the words and the illustrations to get to the end-results.            * Toen ik alle items ontving, lachte ik enorm met een aantal van de zinnen van de "Fresh Squeezed"-stempelset. Natuurlijk moest ik er één op mijn kaart gebruiken. De boodschap vannop mijn kaart richt zich op de citroenen, om dat woord alle aandacht te geven die het nodig heeft, heb ik meer folie gebruikt. Ik ben dol op de "Deco Foil - Toner Sheets" om extra elementen te aandacht te geven. Daarna speelde ik met de positie van de woorden en de citroenen illustraties om tot de eindresultaten te komen.

On my second card, I used another way to add foil… Yes, Transfer Gel! I took the “The Kindred Tile Stencil” and added the “Transfer Gel” on top of a slightly yellow paper.            * Op mijn tweede kaart heb ik een andere manier gebruikt om folie toe te voegen ... Ja, Transfer Gel! Ik nam de "The Kindred Tile Stencil" en voegde de "Transfer Gel" toe, bovenop een lichtgeel papier.

As you probably know the gel needs a dry time. When it was dry I also for this I used the laminator and pushed this paper true with the “Gold Shattered Glass Deco Foil” (like the words on the previous card). After peeled off the extra foil I added some yellow ink on all the sides. This gives the card a little bit more dimension and the end result is stunning; the pretty gold pattern looks like squeezed lemon in my mind haha!            * Zoals je waarschijnlijk weet, heeft de gel een droog-tijd nodig (ongveer 10 minuten). Toen het droog was, heb ik hiervoor ook de lamineermachine gebruikt en dit papier met de "Gold Shattered Glass Deco Foil" (net zoals de woorden op de vorige kaart) erdoorheen gehaald. Nadat ik de extra folie eraf pelde, gaf ik alle kanten gele inkt. Dit geeft de kaart een beetje meer dimensie. Het eindresultaat is verbluffend; het mooie gouden patroon ziet eruit als geperst citroen in mijn gedachten haha!

To finish this card I stamped the sentiments on two borders and embossed them with embossing powder. The lemon on the side of the sentiment looked a little empty, that’s why I did add some foiled leaves underneath lemon slice. These leaves were created the same way as before; with “Deco Foil – Toner Sheets” and the “Spring Green Deco Foil”.            * Om deze kaart af te werken heb ik de boodschap op twee stukjes papier gestempeld met embossingpoeder. De citroen aan de zijkant van zin leek een beetje leeg, daarom heb ik wat verijdelde blaadjes toegevoegd onder de schijfjes citroen. Deze bladeren zijn op dezelfde manier blinkend gemaakt als voorheen; met "Deco Foil - Toner Sheets" en de "Spring Green Deco Foil"
