NND Release: August 2020 - Knight Owl and Pug-kin stamp set

It's the last day to highlight new sets from the Newton’s Nook Design August release! Today we are we are going again to the scary road. Below I will share two Halloween sets and stencils!                     * Het is de laatste dag om nieuwe sets uit de Newton’s Nook Design August-release te tonen! Vandaag gaan we de alweer de enge weg op. Hieronder toon ik twee Halloween-sets en sjablonen!

We've two cute 2x3 photopolymer stamp sets; "Pug-king" and "Night-Owl".                     * We hebben twee schattige 2x3 fotopolymeer stempelsets; "Pug-king" en "Night-Owl".

Then we have the  Spiderweb stencil.                     * Vervolgens hebben we de Spiderweb stencil.

I like the little stamps; you can do so much with them and they are very beneficial.                     * Ik hou van de kleine stempels; je kan er zo veel met doen en ze zijn erg voordelig.

But you can also do a lot with templates. You can use a lot of different products to make your card look fantastic. Here I used the Glitz Glitter Gel from ThermOWeb (be sure to check out yesterday's 2nd blog post, there I mixed different glitters together)!                     * Maar ook met sjablonen kan je veel doen. Je kan heel wat verschillende producten gebruiken om je kaart er fantastisch te laten uitzien. Hier gebruikte ik de Glitz Glitter Gel van ThermOWeb (bekijk ook zeker de 2de blog post van gisteren, daar mengde ik verschillende glitters tezamen)!

We're not quite done yet. The very last item of this release is the "Houndstooth" Stencil.                     * We zijn nog niet helemaal klaar. Het allerlaatste item van deze release is de "Houndstooth" Stencil.

I thought the template was ideal for our "Knight owl", but of course this pattern is very universal. I will certainly use the template several times!                     * Ik vond de sjabloon ideaal voor ons "Knight-owl", maar natuurlijk is dit patroon zeer universeel. De sjabloon zal ik zeker meermaals gebruiken!

It takes me all the way back to the age of chivalry!                     * Het brengt me helemaal terug naar de riddertijd!

Each year I like to give a little something to my colleagues. This year it’s candy cane with cacao powder. I made a paper box this Thuesday in the Newton's Nook Design e-newsletter. Today I like to share how I deacorated plastic packaging.                      * Elk jaar geef ik graag een presentje aan mijn collega's. Dit jaar is het snoepstok en cacaopoeder. Ik heb deze dinsdag een papieren doos gemaakt in de e-nieuwsbrief van Newton's Nook Design. Vandaag deel ik graag hoe ik plastic verpakkingen heb gedecoreerd.

I recovered these boxes from another purchase. To cover up the ticket, I cut out a piece of paper and gave it a nice edge. It was ideal to stick over the ticket.                      * Deze doosjes recupereerde ik van een andere aankoop. Om het ticket te verdoezelen sneed ik een stuk papier uit en gaf het een leuk randje. Het was ideaal om over het ticket te kleven.

Then I made the shaker element with some items from the 'Made from Scratch' stamp and die set. As a last step, I attached the whole thing to a bow with a thread.                      * Vervolgens maakte ik het shaker element met enkele extra elementen van de 'Made from Scratch' stempel en snijmal set. Als laaste stap bevestigde ik het geheel met een draad aan een strik.

The second boxes are made in the same way. This time I used the 'Holiday Hounds' stamp and die set.                       * Het tweede doosjes is net op dezelfde manier gemaakt. Ditmaal gebruikte ik de 'Holiday Hounds' stempel en snijmal set.

Foil, Flock and Dies

As you could see this week Newton's Nook Designs and ThermOWeb are partnering for fabulous Fall, Halloween and Christmas inspiration! All week long both design teams did share ways to use ThermOWeb products with Newton's Nook Designs stamps.                     * Zoals jullie al opmerkte op mijn blog werkt Newton's Nook Designs en ThermOWeb dze week samen met fantastisch herfst-, Halloween- en kerstinspiratie! Beide ontwerpteams toonden de hele week manieren om ThermOWeb-producten te gebruiken met de Newton's Nook Designs-stempels en snijallen.

I created two cards for this collaboration; but there are more amazing projects today over on the ThermOWeb blog so pop over there for more inspiration! In this post I like to show you how I created these cards:                      * Ik maakte twee kaarten voor deze samenwerking; maar er staan vandaag nog meer toffe projecten op de ThermOWeb-blog, dus neem daar zeker ook een kijkje voor meer inspiratie! In deze post zal je laten zien hoe ik mijn kaarten maakte:

The first card I made is a fall card, using flock and flower dies.                      * De eerste kaart die ik hier toon is een herfstkaart, met flock en bloemstanzen. 

1. Place the Deco Foil Flock on Deco Foil Double-sided Foam Adhesive and put the dies from the Flower Trio die set on top. Push the whole ‘sandwitch’ true your die cutting machine. Peal of the remained flock next. The result are these pretty flocked shapes. To give them a little dimension you add some distress ink on top of them.                      * 1. Plaats de Deco Foil Flock op Deco Foil Double-sided Foam Adhesive en plaats de stanzen van de Flower Trio die set er bovenop. Duw vervolgens de hele ‘sandwitch’ door je stansmachine. Pel ook de overgebleven flock weg. Het resultaat zijn deze mooie donzige vormen. Om ze wat meer dimensie te geven, bracht ik nog wat dirstress ink aan.

2. Next I did cut out a rectangular shape from brown paper. The sentiment was stamped right after that. Then I placed the flocked flowers on the pannel.                      * 2.Vervolgens sneed ik een rechthoekige vorm uit bruin papier. De boodschap stempelde ok meteen nadoen. Daarna plaatste ik de bloemen op het panneel.

3. I took the “Serene Stripes” stencil and added the “Transfer Gel” on top of the card base. As you probably know the gel needs a dry time. When it was dry I used the laminator and pushed this paper true with the “Gold Shattered Glass Deco Foil”. After that I peeled off the extra foil.                      * 3. Ik nam het "Serene Stripes" stencil en bracht de "Transfer Gel" op de kaartbasis aan. Zoals je waarschijnlijk weet, heeft de gel enige tijd nodig om te drogen. Als het droog was, gebruikte ik een laminator en duwde dit papier met de "Gold Shattered Glass Deco Foil" erdoor. Nadien verwijderde ik de extra foil.

The flock gives the flowers a really fun look.                      * De ‘flock’ geeft de bloemen een heel leuke uitstraling.

Next we have a Christmas card.                     * Vervolgens hebben we een kerstkaart.

For this card I used the “Pine & Holy” dies and the “Ornament Shaker” die set. Let me show you how I combined them with the ThermOWeb products:                      * Voor deze kaart heb ik de "Pine & Holy" –stanzen en de "Ornament Shaker" -stanzen gebruikt. Ik zal je laten zien hoe ik ze combineerde met de ThermOWeb-producten:

1. Push again the Deco Foil Flock, Deco Foil Double-sided Foam Adhesive and dies true your die cutting machine.                      * 1. Druw nogmaals de Deco Foil Flock, Deco Foil Dubbelzijdig Foam Lijm en stanzen door uw stansmachine.

2. Give the die cuts a gradient of color by adding distress ink on top of them.                      * 2. Geef de snijmallen een kleurverloop door er extra inkt aan te brengen.

3. In my opinion the foil really gives the extra wow effect to a card. The Polka Dots Toner Sheet with the Bronze Deco Foil Transfer Sheet looks so awesome! It’s just perfect for this brown background.                      * 3. Naar mijn mening geeft de folie echt het extra wow-effect aan een kaart. De Polka Dots-Toner Sheet met het de Bronze Deco Foil Transfer Sheet ziet er echt geweldig uit! Het is gewoon perfect voor deze bruine achtergrond.

4. Cut all pieces from the desired paper. Then you also cut the full shape of transparency and use the dies with a hole for self-adhesive foam. Stamp with StazOn ink the text on the transparency.                      * 4. Snijd alle stukken uit je gewenste papier. Vervolgens snijdt je ook de volledige vorm uit transparant ‘plastiek’ en gebruikt stanzen met het voorziene gat voor de zelfklevende foam. Stempel met StazOn-inkt de tekst op de transparant plastiek.

5. Glue all the pieces together. When the pieces needed extra glue I used the Ultra Bond Liquid Adhesive.                      * 5. Lijm alle stukjes aan elkaar. Wanneer de stukjes extra lijm nodig hadden, gebruikte ik de Ultra Bond Liquid Adhesive.

6. I used twine to hang the ornament on top of the card. To stick it on the back of the paper, I used Purple Tape.                      * 6. Ik gebruikte een touwtje om de kerstbal op de kaart te hangen. De paarse tape op de achterkant hielp me het vast te kleven op het papier.

Even my husband did like this card. He said he liked the color combination a lot, but he didn’t dare to mention he liked shaking the card a few times too haha.                      * Zelfs mijn man vond deze kaart leuk. Hij zei dat hij de kleurencombinatie vooral erg leuk vond, maar hij durfde niet te vermelden dat hij de ook enkele keerde enthousiast met de kaart schudde hihi.
