Fall and Winter Coffee Lovers Blog hop 2020 - Newton's Nook Designs

Today I'm so excited to join the National Coffee Day Hop. Newton's Nook Design isn't only a sponsor for the hop, the team also loves the Coffee Lovers website so much that we decided to do our own Coffee Hop to celebrate it.                    * Vandaag ben ik zo blij om deel te nemen aan de National Coffee Day Hop. Newton's Nook Design is niet alleen een sponsor voor de hop, maar heel het team houd zo veel van de Coffee Lovers-website dat we besloten om onze eigen Coffee Hop te doen om het te vieren!

Because the long narrow cards are so popular this year, I wanted to make another one. The pretty spell stamp sets from NND normally take up a lot of space on a card, so hardly an image can be added. That is completely different when you use it on a slimeline card.                    * Omdat dit jaar de lange smalle kaartjes zo populair zijn wilde ik er nog eens eentje maken. De spreuk stempel sets van NND nemen normaal veel plek in op een kaart waardoor er nauwelijks nog een afbeelding bij kan. Dat is helemaal anders als je deze op zo'n lange kaart gebruikt.

I just love to color and really enjoyed picking all the stamps and creating the scene. Here are the Copic Markers I used:                    * Ik hou gewoon van kleuren en heb er echt van genoten om alle stempels te kiezen en de scène te maken. Hier zijn de Copic Markers die ik gebruikte:

Purple/Paars: V17, BV04, BV02, BV00, BV000
Orange/Oranje: R24, YR09, YR07, YR18, YR14

Geel/Yellow: Y15, Y08, Y06
Brown/Bruin: E79, E74, E57

Green/Groen: G09, G05, G03, YG05, YG03, YG02 and G94, YG95, YG91

Grey/Grijs: T5, T3, T2

Grey (cat)/Grijs (kat): W5, W3, W2, W1

Black/Zwart: 100, C9 C7, C5

I think the bigger sets make the slimeline looks so fabulous. Did you ever tried bigger stamps on your slimline card? Creating A Card For Someone With A New Job

 Hi everyone, welcome back to my blog. Today I'm featuring some products from Newton's Nook Designs.                    * Hallo allemaal, welkom terug op mijn blog. Vandaag toon ik een kaartje met enkele Newton's Nook Designs producten.

I created a school themed card for someone that got a job at an university.
Let me tell you how I made it...                    * Ik maakte een kaart met een schoolthema voor iemand die een baan op een universiteit heeft gekregen.
Laat me je vertellen hoe ik het heb gemaakt...

1. I searched for all things that could fit the theme; School related items like books, coffee, a graduation hat,…. Than I colored the illustrations with Copic Markers.                    * 1. Ik zocht naar alle dingen die bij het thema konden passen; School gerelateerde items zoals boeken, koffie, een afstudeerhoed,…. Daarna kleurde ik de illustraties in  met Copic Markers.

2. When you want a specific sentiment, it's so easy to use the alphabet dies. I did cut our the word "job" from foam tape and white paper. Suddenly I remembered the word "new" was is a baby set and that made a perfect match with the word "job".                     * 2. Als je een specifiek bericht wil op de kaart, is het gemakkelijk om de alfabet-dies te gebruiken. Ik sneed het woord '"job" uit foam en wit papier. Opeens herinnerde ik me dat het woord "new" in één baby set stempel zat en dat dat perfect overeenkwam met het woord "job".

3. Next the card base was created with the Houndstooth Stencil and Red Velvet Glitz Glitter Gel. For the circle I bleded blue distress ink and splatered water on top. These colors are based on the logo from the universaty.                    * 3. Vervolgens is de kaartbasis gemaakt met de Houndstooth-sjabloon en Red Velvet Glitz Glitter Gel. Voor de cirkel mengde ik blauwe Distressink en spetterde er water op. De kleuren zijn gebaseerd op het logo van de universiteit.

I also made a small gift as an extra...                    * Ik maakte ook een klein cadeautje als extraatje...

Two Tips That Will Make Your Card Look Fabulous

 Once a month on Friday I have a blog post for Newton's Nook Design. This Friday it's no difference.                   * Één keer in de maand op vrijdag heb ik voor Newton's Nook Design een blogpost klaarstaan. Deze vrijdag is dit niet anders.

In this post I would like to give you some nice tips to give your card that little extra.                   * In deze post wil ik jullie graag enkele leuke tips geven om je kaartje dat extraatje te geven.

First I inked a rectangular piece with Distress Ink (you will see the colors on the picture slighty differ with the card, because I made a new background for it). To add Neon Flock on top, you spray the back of your stencil with Pixie Spray or use Purple Tape to hold your stencil in place. Lay your stencil over the background and spread the Deco Foil Transfer Gel Blanco on the background. Let the piece dry. When it’s dry you place the flock (with the flock side down) on the background and push it true your laminator. It looks fun as it it, but it’s even more awesome when you stamp on the flock!                   * Eerst heb ik een rechthoekig papiertje met Distress Ink geinkt (je zult zien dat de kleuren van de foto enigszins verschillen van de kaart, omdat ik er een nieuwe achtergrond voor heb gemaakt). Om de Neon Flock er bovenop toe te voegen, spray je de achterkant van je sjabloon in met Pixie Spray of gebruik je Purple Tape om je sjabloon op zijn plaats te houden. Leg je sjabloon over de achtergrond en smeer de Deco Foil Transfer Gel Blanco op de achtergrond. Laat het vervolgens drogen. Als het droog is, plaats je de Flock (met de zachte kant naar beneden) op de achtergrond en duw hem door je lamineermachine. Het ziet er leuk uit, maar het is nog leuker als je op de Flock stempelt!

Then I colored in all the elements and cut out the hills. This brings us to the 2nd tip. The glasses of the Llama are made by stamping a velume piece with black ink and go over it with irredecent embossing powder. Doesn't he look awesome with his glasses?!                    * Daarna heb ik alle elementen ingekleurd en de heuvels uitgesneden. Dit brengt ons bij de 2e tip. De glazen van de Llama zijn gemaakt door zwarte inkt te stempelen op transparant papier en eroverheen te gaan met irridescent embossingpoeder. Ziet hij er niet geweldig uit met zijn bril?!

     

 

NND Release: August 2020 - Knight Owl and Pug-kin stamp set

It's the last day to highlight new sets from the Newton’s Nook Design August release! Today we are we are going again to the scary road. Below I will share two Halloween sets and stencils!                     * Het is de laatste dag om nieuwe sets uit de Newton’s Nook Design August-release te tonen! Vandaag gaan we de alweer de enge weg op. Hieronder toon ik twee Halloween-sets en sjablonen!

We've two cute 2x3 photopolymer stamp sets; "Pug-king" and "Night-Owl".                     * We hebben twee schattige 2x3 fotopolymeer stempelsets; "Pug-king" en "Night-Owl".

Then we have the  Spiderweb stencil.                     * Vervolgens hebben we de Spiderweb stencil.

I like the little stamps; you can do so much with them and they are very beneficial.                     * Ik hou van de kleine stempels; je kan er zo veel met doen en ze zijn erg voordelig.

But you can also do a lot with templates. You can use a lot of different products to make your card look fantastic. Here I used the Glitz Glitter Gel from ThermOWeb (be sure to check out yesterday's 2nd blog post, there I mixed different glitters together)!                     * Maar ook met sjablonen kan je veel doen. Je kan heel wat verschillende producten gebruiken om je kaart er fantastisch te laten uitzien. Hier gebruikte ik de Glitz Glitter Gel van ThermOWeb (bekijk ook zeker de 2de blog post van gisteren, daar mengde ik verschillende glitters tezamen)!

We're not quite done yet. The very last item of this release is the "Houndstooth" Stencil.                     * We zijn nog niet helemaal klaar. Het allerlaatste item van deze release is de "Houndstooth" Stencil.

I thought the template was ideal for our "Knight owl", but of course this pattern is very universal. I will certainly use the template several times!                     * Ik vond de sjabloon ideaal voor ons "Knight-owl", maar natuurlijk is dit patroon zeer universeel. De sjabloon zal ik zeker meermaals gebruiken!

It takes me all the way back to the age of chivalry!                     * Het brengt me helemaal terug naar de riddertijd!
