Summer Crafting With Kids - Upgrading Toys

Today we will continue to show crafts that you can do with or for your children. Here I will show you how I upgraded a toy with stamps and stencils from Newton's Nook Design.                * Vandaag gaan we verder in op knutselwerkjes die je kan doen met of voor je kinderen. Hier zal ik jullie tonen hoe ik een speelgoedje aanpaste met stempels en sjablonen van Newton's Nook Design.

Below you will find a photo explanation where step by step information is given so that you can make this yourself.                * Hieronder vind je dus een foto uitleg waarbij stap voor stap informatie word gegeven zodat je het zelf kan maken.

 

1. Cut out a circle that fit the toy and stamp a summer looking image on top of it. I used the "Gull friends", "Shrimp Cocktails" and the "Flip Flop Life" stamps.                * 1. Knip een cirkel uit die op het speelgoed past en stempel er een zomers tafereel op. Ik gebruikte de "Gull-friends", "Shrimp Cocktails" en de "Flip Flop Life-stempels".

2. Stamp the illustrations again on masking tape. Afterwards you cut them out and place them on the circles.                * 2. Stempel de illustraties opnieuw op 'masking tape'. Daarna knip je ze uit en plaats je ze op de cirkels.

3. Give the circles some color. I used Distress ink and stencils (the "Waves", "Tumbling Hearts" and "Cascading Stars" stencil) on them.                * 3. Geef de cirkels een kleur. Ik gebruikte Distress inkt en sjablonen hiervoor (de "Waves", "Tumbling Hearts" en "Cascading Stars" sjabloon).

 

4. Use your Crocodile Punsh to put wholes in the paper. When the toy is completed, the wholes are the “goals” for the balls. I also colored the illustrations with Copic Markers as you can see on the picture.                * 4. Gebruik je 'Crocodile Punsh' om gaatjes in het papier te maken. Wanneer het speelgoed is voltooid, zijn de gaatjes de 'goalen' voor de ballen. Ik heb de illustraties ook ingekleurd met Copic Markers zoals je op de foto kunt zien.

5. Open the toy you bought. I bought some cheap plastic one that are easy to open. I also cleaned them a little bit.                * 5. Open het speelgoed dat je hebt gekocht. Ik kocht goedkope plastieken speelgoed dat gemakkelijk te openen is. Ik maakte ze ook een beetje proper.

6. Take out the original paper piece from the toy and replace it with your little piece of art. I used a strong tape runner to stick the paper to the toy.                * 6. Haal het stuk origineel papier uit het speelgoed en vervang het door je zelfgemaakt kunstwerkje. Ik gebruikte een sterke tape runner om het papier aan de het speelgoed te plakken.

Isn't the end result wonderful? This was really a fun and easy craft project!                * Is het eindresultaat niet prachtig? Dit was echt een leuk en eenvoudig knutselproject!
