In my previous blog post for Jocelijne Design I talked about monochrome colors (click here to see the card and post). We only used one color in different variations. But what if you want to use more colors? It can be really hard sometimes to see which colors work together. * In mijn vorige blog post voor Jocelijne Design had ik het over monochrome kleuren (klik hier om het kaartje te zien). Hierbij gebruikten we maar 1 kleur in verschillende variaties. Maar wat als je nu meer kleuren wil gebruiken? Het kan soms echt echt moeilijk zijn om te kijken welke kleuren samen werken.
A handy tool is a color wheel. It is an ordering system in which the colors are arranged in a circle. It gives you an overview of how colors relate to each other. The color wheel can therefore also help to see which colors fit together. Today I use the complementary colors on the color wheel. On the wheel we look at the colors that are opposite from each other in the color circle. This gives the card a harmonious feeling. * Een handige tool hierbij is een kleurencirkel (in kunstwinkels kan je zo'n kleurenwiel kopen, maar je kan het ook gewoon online vinden). Het is een ordeningssysteem waarin de kleuren in een cirkel zijn gerangschikt. Het geeft je een overzicht hoe kleuren zich tot elkaar verhouden. De kleurencirkel kan dus ook helpen om te kijken welke kleuren bij elkaar passen. Vandaag gebruik ik hiervoor de complementaire kleuren op het kleurenwiel. Dit betekend dat we gaan kijken naar de kleuren die tegenover elkaar staan in de kleurencirkel. Hierdoor krijgt de kaart een harmonieus geheel.
As you can see I use blue and orange as main colors on the card. The penguin fits very well with this. It is a slightly less traditional Christmas card, but still awesome! The colors make this card special. * Zoals je kan zien gebruikte ik blauw en oranje als hoofdkleuren op de kaart. De pinguïn (Patooties snijmal set) past hier enorm goed bij.. Het is een iets minder traditionele kerstkaart, maar daarom niet minder fijn! De kleuren maken het kaartje hier bijzonder.
