NND July Release: Day 1

Hello crafty friends, this week is super special. Newton's Nook Designs hit a milestone; they are 6 years old and we celebrate it with a big release! Let's get started!                * Hallo vrienden, deze week is super speciaal. Newton's Nook Designs heeft een mijlpaal bereikt; ze zijn 6 jaar oud en we vieren het met een grote release! Laten we beginnen!

The first item is this Pineapple a duo of stencils:                * Het eerste item is deze Pineapple, een duo van stencils:

In my opinion the stencil leaves such a pretty pattern you can use it on it's own.                * Naar mijn mening laat desjabloon zo'n mooi patroon achter dat je het op zichzelf kunt gebruiken.

This layered stencil design makes creating patterned paper simple. Let me explain how easy it is:                * Dit gelaagde stencilontwerp maakt het maken van patronen eenvoudig. Laat me uitleggen hoe gemakkelijk het is:

1. Use one stencil for the first layer. I applied "Sweet Mango - Glitz Glitter Gel" from ThermOWeb by using the stencil.                * 1. Gebruik een stencil voor de eerste laag. Ik heb "Sweet Mango - Glitz Glitter Gel" van ThermOWeb aangebracht met behulp van de stencil.

2. Then I did add the second layer with a different color ("Grass Green - Glitz Glitter Gel"). It's that easy to achieve the Pineapple pattern. Both stencils also include etching of the opposite layer so they are easy to line up.                * 2. Vervolgens heb ik de tweede laag toegevoegd met een andere kleur ("Grass Green - Glitz Glitter Gel"). Het is zo eenvoudig om het Pineapple-patroon bekomen. Beide stencils bevatten ook groeven van de tegenoverliggende laag, zodat heel gemakkelijk kan zien hoe je ze kan aanbringen.

3. As last step I embossed some birthday sentiments on a flag from the "Frames and Flags - die set".                * 3. Als laatste stap heb ik een aantal verjaardagsteksten op een vlag uit de "Frames en Flags - dies set" embossed.

The Pineapple stencil duo is not on its own. The second item we reveal is this Hibiscus Stencil Set:                * Het stencilduo van Pineapple is niet alleen. Het tweede item dat we onthullen is deze Hibiscus-stencilset:

I created a similar card with the same technique as above.                * Ik heb dezelfde kaart gemaakt met dezelfde techniek als op de eerste kaart.

I think the Glitz Glitter Gel and the stencils work so well together! Together it gives a big WOW effect.                * Ik vind dat de Glitz Glitter Gel en de stencils zo goed samenwerken! Samen geeft het een groot WOW-effect.

Of course we also have an awesome stamp and coordinating die set to show today; Corgi Beach.                * Natuurlijk hebben we ook een geweldige stempel en coördinerende die set om te onthullen; Corgi Beach.

The "Bark less beach more" sentiment cracked me up, it's so funny! I think it's perfect to put a smile on someone's face.                * De teskt "Bark less beach more" heeft me echt aan het lachen gebracht, het is zo grappig! Ik denk dat het perfect is om een glimlach op iemands gezicht te toveren.

I colored the background with Oxide inks and the illustrations with Inktence Color Pencils. These illustrations are so adorable!                * Ik kleurde de achtergrond met Oxide-inks en de illustraties met Inktence Color Pencils. Deze illustraties zijn zo schattig!

Warm Wishes

Happy Friday folks, I'm so happy it's almost weekend!! Today I have a last Coffee Lovers hop project to show. This time the card is made with Whimsy Stamps products.             * Happy Friday-mensen, ik ben zo blij dat het bijna weekend is !! Vandaag heb ik het laatste project voor de Coffee Lovers hop. Deze keer is het kaartje gemaakt met producten van Whimsy Stamps.

For this card I masked of the small objects and stamped my cup on top. Then I took my watercolors and colored my scene. After paining I did cut out the heart around my scene and stamped my message on a banner. The last step on this card was adding my background and some sequins.             * Voor deze kaart heb ik de kleine voorwerpen eerst afgedekt en mijn kopje erop gestempeld. Toen nam ik mijn aquarellen en kleurde mijn scène. Na het schilderen knipte ik het hart rond mijn scène uit en stempelde ik mijn boodschap op een mini spandoek. De laatste stap op deze kaart was het toevoegen van mijn achtergrond en enkele pailletten.

Whimsy Release: Day 2

Welcome back to the last day of the Whimsy Stamps release week inspiration week. Today, I'm showing off a little penguin and a word die.                * Welkom terug op de laatste dag van de Whimsy Stamps release inspiratie week. Vandaag laat ik een kleine pinguïn zien en een woord stanzs.
 

I'm a big fan of penguins and of course the Whimsy Stamps word dies. Below you see a close up on the new products "Snowflake Penguin" and the "Gratitude" word dies.                * Ik ben een grote fan van pinguïns en natuurlijk de snijmallen van Whimsy Stamps. Hieronder zie je een close-up van de nieuwe producten "Snowflake Penguin" en de"Gratitude" woord snijmallen.

 

For this card I used my inktense color pencils. With these pencils you can water color, so that's what I did. Seriously, isn't this the cutest penguin you ever seen?                * Voor deze kaart heb ik mijn inktense kleurpotloden gebruikt. Met deze potloden kun je water-verven, dus dat is wat ik deed. Serieus, is dit niet de leukste pinguïn die je ooit hebt gezien?

Cupcake Challenge - Cats

Hi there! It's Sunday and today I like to introduce you to another fun challenge. Newton's Nook Design is sponsoring the Cupcake Challenge blog with their new cat challenge. Of course I had to join them and make something with the new "Sweater Weather" stamp set I got as present from a friend.               * Hallo daar! Het is zondag en vandaag wil ik je graag laten kennismaken met een andere leuke uitdaging. Newton's Nook Design sponsort de Cupcake Challenge blog met hun nieuwe 'poezen' uitdaging. Natuurlijk moest ik mee doen met de nieuwe stempel set "Sweater Weathe" die ik van iemand cadeau kreeg.

For this card I did use my Derwent Inktence color pencils again. These are water soluble pencils. It looks like you are watercolors when you use them. Because we will be painting I was using first my black momento ink and did go over it with clear embossing powder (easy with a MISTI tool). That ensures the image doesn't fade when you go over with water. For this small image I use the pencils: Sea Blue, Iris Blue, Fuchsia and Backed Earth               * Voor deze gebruikte ik nog eens mijn Derwent Inktence kleurpotloden. Deze zijn in water oplosbaar. Het lijkt alsof je aan het aquarellen bent als je ze gebruikt.Omdat we verven stempel ik eerst met zwarte momento inkt de afbeelding en gingen er met doorschijnende embossingpoeder erover (eenvoudig met een MISTI tool). Dat zorgt ervoor dat het beeld niet vervaagt wanneer je erover gaant met water. Voor deze kleine afbeelding gebruikte ik de potloden: Sea Blue, Iris Blue, Fuchsia en Backed Earth

Thank You Card

Hi everyone! In this post I show a card with the "Hello" stamp set from Els Brigé. Rather than using my Copic markers I used my new Drewent Inktense pencils. These are pencils which are water solvable, which makes them just like watercolors.               * Hey iedereen, het is Ellen hier! Op deze post toon ik een kaartje met de "Hallo" stempel set van Els Brigé. In plaats van mijn Copic markers te gebruiken gebruik ik mijn nieuwe Drewent Inktense potloden. Dit zijn potloden die wateroplosbaar zijn, waardoor ze net op waterverf lijken.

First I stamped the flowers at the top and bottom with Archival Ink. This ink is water resistant, that means that it does not erase when you go over it with water. Further, I colored my flowers by color some parts dark with pencils. After that I went over it with water on paint brush. As a last step, I stamped the phrase "Een kaartje voor jou" (= a card for you in Dutch) and I stuck "Dank je wel" (= thank you in Dutch) in the middle of the card.               * Allereerst stempelde ik de de bloemen onderaan en bovenaan met Archival Ink. Deze inkt is waterresistent, d.w.z. dat die niet uitveegt als je er met water overheen gaat. Verder kleurde ik mijn bloemen in door op enkele donkere plekjes lichtjes te kleuren met de potloden. Daarna ging ik er over met een verfborstel. Als allerlaatste stap stempelde ik de zin "Een kaartje voor jou" en lijmde ik "Dank je wel" in het midden van de kaart.
