NND Release: February 2021 - Spring Roundabout + Basketweave and Bunny Tails Stencils

Hello creative friends! It's time to show the new products for  the Newton's Nooks Design release from this month! We are beyond excited to begin sharing everything! We do not only show you a new stamp set today, but also two super fun stencils!!                       * Hallo creatievelingen! Het is tijd om de nieuwe producten voor de Newton's Nooks Design-release van deze maand te laten zien! We zijn ontzettend enthousiast om alles met jullie te kunnen delen! We laten je vandaag niet alleen een nieuwe stempel set zien, maar ook twee superleuke sjablonen!!

Let's start with the stencils. First of all, we have the "Bunny Tails". These are two stencils that belong together, one stencil includes the rabbits and the other the tails. Both stencils include etching of the opposite layer so they are easy to line up. Perfect for creating a super cute bunny pattern. The second stencil is the "Basket Weave" stencil.                        * Laten we eraan beginnen met de sjablonen. Allereerst hebben we de "Bunny Tails". Dit zijn twee sjablonen die samen horen, één sjabloon omvat de konijnen en het andere de staartjes. Beide sjablonen bevatten groefjes van de tegenoverliggende laag, zodat ze gemakkelijk op één lijn kunnen worden gebracht. Perfect om een super schattig konijnenpatroon te maken. Het tweede sjabloon is het "Basket Weave" -sjabloon

Of course I first made a card with the "Bunny Tails" stencil set. For this I used Distress ink on my first layer (the colors: Mustard Seed and Squeezed Lemonade). Then I used Gold Glitz Glitter Gel from ThermOWeb for the second layer, the tails.                       * Natuurlijk maakte ik eerst een kaartje met de "Bunny Tails" sjabloon set. Hiervoor gebruikte ik voor mijn eerste laag Distress inkt (in de kleuren: Mustard Seed and Squeezed Lemonade). Voor de tweede laag, de staartjes, gebruikte Gold Glitz Glitter Gel from ThermOWeb. 

The glitter tails make the pattern very elegant. I think it is fun to just add a stamp to this and quickly complete a card.                       * De glitter staartjes maken het patroon heel elegant. Ik vind het ook super leuk om hier gewoon een stempel aan toe te voegen en zo een kaartje snel te vervolledigen.

On the next card you can see not only the "Basket Weave" stencil, but also the new stamp set; "Spring Roundabout". This  "Spring Roundabout" stamp set is perfectly sized to fit with the scallop edged circle frame on the Circle Frames Die Set and is perfect for creating circle cards or layering a circle onto any card! The sentiments on this set are all sized to fit on the die cut banners from our Banner Trio Die Set.

Op de volgende kaart kan je niet alleen de Basket Weave sjabloon zien, maar ook de nieuwe stempel set; Spring Roundabout.                       * Op de volgende kaart ziet u niet alleen het "Basket Weave"-sjabloon, maar ook de nieuwe stempelset; "Spring Roundabout". Deze "Spring Roundabout" Stamp Set heeft het perfecte formaat dat past bij het geschulpte cirkelframe op de "Circle Frames" die set" en is perfect voor het maken van cirkelkaarten of het in lagen aanbrengen van een cirkel op een kaart! De gevoelens op deze set zijn allemaal zo groot dat ze passen op de gestanste banners van onze "Banner Trio" die set.

This time I used the "Zig Clean Color Brush Markers" to color the illustrations. For the pattern on the paper I used the new "Basket Weave" stencil and Distress ink (in the color Peacock Feathers).                       * Deze keer gebruikte ik de "Zig Clean Color Brush Markers" om de illustraties in te kleuren. Voor het patroon op het papier gebruikte ik het nieuwe "Basket Weave" stencil en Distress inkt (in de kleur Peacock Feathers).

Instead of centering everything on my card, I placed the circle more to the right. Now you can see that it also works!                       * In plaats van alles te centreren op mijn kaartje, plaatste ik de cirkel meer naar rechts toe. Zo zie je maar dat dat ook werkt!

NND Release: November 2020 - Snowman Roundabout

Hey hey! Also today we have a new introduction for the Newton's Nook Design release.                    * Hoi hoi! Ook vandaag hebben we een nieuwe introductie voor de Newton's Nook Design-release.

Here we introduce an addition on the roundabout stamp sets; the Snowman Roundabout. These sets are  perfectly sized to fit with the scallop edged circle frame on the Circle Frames Die Set and are perfect for creating circle cards or layering a circle onto any card!                    * Hier introduceren we een aanvulling op de "roundabout" stempelsets; de Snowman Roundabout. Deze sets hebben het perfecte formaat om in de cirkelframe met schulprand te passen van de Circle Frames Die Set en ze zijn perfect om cirkelkaarten te maken of het in lagen een cirkel aan te brengen op een kaart!

I started by stamping and coloring the circular illustration. To color all the cute snowmen I used ZIG Clean Color Real Brush markers. Then I started cutting out the scalloped circle frame and a rectangle. Distress ink helped me to color in the rectangle. I aslo used the Tiny Trees stencil (from the Oktober release) on that background. This fun bold tree pattern is perfect for creating a fun holiday pattern! As a last step, I stamped the text with embossing powder on one of the banners of the "Banner Trio" set.                    * Ik begon met de  cirkelvormige illustratie te stempelen en in te kleuren. Om alle schattige sneeuwpoppen in te kleuren heb ik ZIG Clean Color Real Brush markers gebruikt. Vervolgens sneed ik het geschulpte cirkelframe en een rechthoek uit. Distress ink hielpen me om de rechthoek in te kleuren. Ik heb ook de Tiny Trees-stencil (van de oktober release) op die achtergrond gebruikt. Dit leuke boompatroon is perfect om een kerstsfeer te bekomen! Als laatste stap, stempelde ik de tekst met embossing poeder op één van de banners van de "Banner Trio" die set.

NND Release: August 2020 - Batty Newton and Spooky Roundabout Stamp Set

Welcome back to day 3 of the Newton's Nook Design release. We go a bit further in the fall theme of yesterday.                     * Welkom terug op dag 3 van de Newton's Nook Design release. We gaan wat verder in het herfstthema van gisteren.

Let’s start with this purrfect set; Batty Newton.                     * Laten we beginnen met deze purrfect set; Batty Newton.

Every year I look forward to the new Halloween sets. I am not disappointed this year either.                     * Elk jaar kijk ik uit naar de nieuwe Halloween sets. Ook dit jaar ben ik niet teleurgesteld.

This image is also suitable for adding details. Again a nice coloring page.                     * Ook deze afbeelding leent zich er voor om details aan te brengen. Opnieuw een leuke kleurplaat.

To get even more in the Halloween theme, we got this "Spooky Roundabout" stamp set.                     * Om ons nog meer in het Halloween-thema te verdiepen, is er deze "Spooky Roundabout" -stempelset.

The large circle image will fit inside the largest scalloped circle die from the Circle Frames Die Set. All of the words on this set will fit inside the banners from the Banner Trio Die Set.                     * De afbeelding met de grote cirkel past in de grootste geschulpte cirkelstans uit de "Circle Frames" snijmal set. Alle woorden op deze set passen in de banners van de "Banner Trio" snijmal set.

I made a shaker card with the two largest dies from the "Circle Frames" die set. I decided to stamp the illistrations on the transparent, to make the shaker more interesting. The colors that appear behind the ghosts look super nice.                     * Ik maakte met de twee grootste snijmallen van de "Circle Frames" snijmal set een shaker kaart. Ik besloot om de illustraties op de transparant te stempelen, om de shaker interessanter te maken. De kleuren die achter de poken te vevoorschijnkomen zien er super leuk uit.

NND Release: June 2020 - Neigh set

Are you ready for another new reveal day from the Newton's Nook Design June release? Today we're showcasing the "Neigh" set.                  * Ben je klaar voor een nieuwe onthulling voor de Newton's Nook Design juni-release? Vandaag presenteren we de "Neigh" set.

The "Neigh" set consists of a stamp set and coordinating die set.                  * De "Neigh" set bestaat uit een stempel set en coordinerende snijmal.

Something I didn't show on Monday was the 'Slimline Frames & Windows'. Of course I also wanted to use this slimline die set once during the release. So that's what I did...                  * Iets wat ik maandag niet liet zien, was de 'Slimline Frames & Windows'. Natuurlijk wilde ik deze slimline stans set ook een keertje gebruiken tijdens de release. Dus zo gezegd zo gedaan...

Instead of using the slimline dies to make a shaker card, I made a scene in the frames. That is why I colored the horses with my Copic Markers and the background with Distress ink..                  * In plaats van de slimline snijmallen te gebruiken om een shaker kaartje te maken, maakte ik een scene in de vormen. Daarom kleurde ik de paardjes in met mijn Copic Markers en de achtergrond met Distress ink.

Yes, We Get Married!

Hello! Today is a special blog post for a few reasons. As most of you know I was in the Els Brigé Design team from the start of this team, but unfortunately this will be my last blog post as a member of the design team. Because I loved this team so much, I want to finish with something else that is close to my heart.                 * Hallo! Vandaag is een bijzondere blogpost op verschillende vlakken. Zoals de meesten onder jullie weten was ik in het Els Brigé Design team vanaf de start van dit team, maar helaas zal dit voorlopig mijn laatste blog post zijn als lid van het design team. Omdat ik zoveel van dit team hield wil ik wel afsluiten met iets anders dat nauw aan mijn hart ligt.

What you see here is a card that I made for my fiancé. We marry very soon and I really wanted to give him something meaningful before he sees me completely dressed up. It’s a card to reassure him and to tell something sweet.                 * Wat jullie zien is namelijk een kaartje dat ik gemaakt heb voor mijn verloofde. Wij trouwen heel binnenkort en ik vond het leuk om hem iets betekenisvol te geven vóór dat hij me helemaal opgemaakt ziet. Het dient ervoor om hem even gerust te stellen en iets liefs te vertellen.

For this I bought paper with matching envelope that has a pearl blue color / appearance. For the project I went looking in different sets that fit together. In this post I want to show that you can be quite creative if you use different sets of Els Brigé Design.                 * Hiervoor kocht ik papier en een passende enveloppe hebben een parelblauwe kleur/schijn. Voor het projectje ging ik op zoek in verschillende sets die bij elkaar passen. In deze post wil ik dan ook tonen dat je best wel creatief kan zijn als je verschillende sets gebruikt van Els Brigé Design.

First of all, I stamped the front of the envelope with silver embossing powder with the words "JA’ (=’Yes’) and ‘We Trouwen (="We Marry") from the “Meneer en Mevrouw” stamp set. On the inside of the envelope I stamped ‘Succes voor strakjes’ (= ‘succes for later’) from the "Pink Ribbon" stamp set. I find it super nice that this stamp suddenly gives a very different feeling than what it is meant to be. Searching from time to time in stamp sets where you don’t think you can find anything can turn out unexpectetly perfect!                 * Allereerst stempelde de voorkant van de enveloppe met zilveren embossingpoeder de woorden ‘Ja’ en ‘Wij Trouwen’ van de “Meneer en Mevrouw” stempelset. Aan de binnenkant van de enveloppe stempelde ik “Succes voor strakjes” van de “Pink Ribbon” stempel set. Ik vind het super fijn dat deze stempel plots een heel ander gevoel geeft dan waar die het meest voor bedoeld is. Dus af en toe zoeken in stempels sets waar je denkt niets in te vinden kan onverwacht leuk uitdraaien!

Then I searched for a nice sketch that I could use to create the card. When I cut out all my desired shapes, I stamped the rest of the texts. I knew that I wanted to stamp the word ‘huwelijk’ (= ‘Marriage’ from the "Mr. and Mrs." stamp set) in my heart with white embossing powder. The word Marriage on own I found a bit empty. The word ‘dat’ (= ‘That) from a sentence from the "Bedankt" set fits perfec. Carefully cut your stamps in two or cover them with Post It Notes is also very useful if you combine text; That is also what I did here with that word ‘dat'. Lastly, I found a very encouraging text ('#Helemaalklaarvoor’ = ready for it from the “Hier & nu” stamp set) that did fit perfectly to complement the card.                 * Vervolgens zocht ik een leuke schets die ik kon gebruiken om de kaart vorm te geven. Toen ik al mijn gewenste vormpjes uitsneed stempelde ik de rest van de teksten. Ik wist dat ik het woord Huwelijk (van de “Meneer en Mevrouw” stempelset) in mijn hartje wilde stempelen met wit embossing poeder. Het woord ‘Huwelijk’ op zichzelf vond ik iets ontbreken. Het woord ‘Dat’ van een zinnetje vanuit de “Bedankt” set paste als gegoten. Je stempels voorzichtig in twee knippen of afdekken met Post It Notes is ook heel handig als je tekst combineerd; Ook dat deed ik hier met die ‘dat’. Als laatst vond ik een super bemoedigend tekst (‘#helemaalkaarvoor’ van de “Hier & nu” stempelset) die prima paste om het kaartje aan te vullen.

Using stamps together in this way becomes a fun grammatical game. Hopefully you enjoyed my last blog post. I already had a lot of pleasure to make you part of something more personal in my life. Hopefully I will se you soon; I will definitely keep inspecting the Els Brigé blog!                 * Stempels samen gebruiken word op die manier een leuk grammaticaal spelletje. Hopelijk genoten jullie van mijn laatste blog berichtje. Ik had alvast veel plezier om jullie een beetje deel te laten uitmaken van iets persoonlijker in mijn leven. Hopelijk tot nog eens, ik zal de Els Brigé blog zeker blijven inspecteren!
