What is Vinyl and a Cute Pencil Case as Example

The example you see here in this blog post is a cute pencil case made with the ‘You Make Me Whole’ SVG File.                         * Het voorbeeld dat je hier in deze blogpost ziet, is een schattig etui gemaakt met het ‘You Make Me Whole’ SVG-bestand.

Simply put, vinyl is sticker paper. It’s perfect for creating permanent or easily removable labels/designs to create gifts (clipboards, notebooks, buckets, gift bags), home décor, or anything you can think of. There are different types of vinyl, for example:                        * Er zijn verschillende soorten vinyl, bijvoorbeeld:

• Permanent Vinyl;
• Removable Vinyl;
• Smart Vinyl (you can cut it without a mat on a Cricut Maker 3/Explore 3 machine) / (je kunt het zonder mat snijden met een Cricut Maker 3/Explore 3-machine.)
  Bedrukbaar vinyl (perfect voor het maken van stickers) / (perfect voor het maken van stickers)
• Printable Vinyl (Perfect for making stickers);
• Stencil Vinyl (ideal to use for painting or etching) / (ideaal om te gebruiken voor schilderen of etsen);
• Chalkboard Vinyl;
• Special Vinyl (for example, glitter, holographic, UV or heat sensitive (changing color), glow in the dark, transparent, frosted) / (bijvoorbeeld glitter, holografisch, UV- of warmtegevoelig (veranderende kleur), glow in the dark, transparant, mat)

How does it work? First, you cut out all the pieces you need and weed out all excess vinyl. Next, apply your vinyl to a piece of clear transfer tape. Carefully remove the vinyl by adding it to the transfer tape (the sticky side of the vinyl must be exposed). Apply all layers, starting with the top layer first, and line them up.                        * Hoe werkt het? Eerst knip je alle stukken uit die je nodig hebt en verwijder je al het overtollige vinyl. Breng vervolgens je vinyl aan op een stuk doorzichtige transfertape. Carefully remove the transfer tape by using a scraper. The vinyl will stick to your surface perfectly now. Two Ways to Make a Bookmark with a Cricut

Today I have a super fun blog post ready for you. I make two super adorable bookmarks. To make these I used the “Groovy Retro Flowers” and the “Happy Pencil” SVG Files from van Printable Cuttable Creatables.                        * Vandaag heb ik een superleuke blogpost voor jullie klaarstaan. Ik maak twee super schattige bladwijzers. Om deze te maken heb ik de “Groovy Retro Flowers” ​​en de “Happy Pencil” SVG-bestanden van Printable Cuttable Creatables gebruikt.

Let me show you how I made the first bookmark.                        * Ik zal je laten zien hoe ik de eerste bladwijzer heb gemaakt.

I did start out by creating a bookmark template. Measure your real live template and try to mimic it as much as you can. Next you make pattern with the elements you want to use (here 2 flowers from the “Groovy Retro Flowers” ​​SVG Files). With the 'slice' tool from Cricut Design Space you can cut a shape from another shape. Using the slice tool will split two overlapping images into different parts. Each new shape will appear as an individual layer. Now you can delete the unwanted images.                        * Ik begon met het maken van een bladwijzersjabloon. Meet uw echte live-sjabloon en probeer deze zoveel mogelijk na te bootsen. Vervolgens maak je een patroon met de elementen die je wil gebruiken (hier 2 bloemen uit de “Groovy Retro Flowers” ​​SVG-bestanden).

For my first bookmark I did use a clear acrylic bookmark. For that reason I did cut out all images out of vinyl. I used my example (made in Cricut Design Space) as a reference to place all the flowers while finishing the bookmark.                        * Voor mijn eerste boekenlegger heb ik een doorzichtige acryl boekenlegger gebruikt. Om die reden seed ik alle afbeeldingen uit vinyl. Ik heb mijn voorbeeld (dat was gemaakt in Cricut Design Space) gebruikt als referentie om alle bloemen te plaatsen terwijl ik de bladwijzer afwerkte.

I finished the bookmark off with a tassel and wooden bead. This is really so cute!!                        * Ik maakte de boeklegger af met een kwastje en een houten kraal. Dit is echt zo schattig!!

Of course I also wanted to show a second example…                        * Natuurlijk wilde ik ook nog een tweede voorbeeld laten zien…

For this bookmark I used the ‘combine’ tool from Cricut Design Space. This allows you to create new shapes. I used the ‘Unite’ button to merge the two yellow parts of the pencil shapes into one larger pencil (little note; the layers may change position). Next I did unite the eyes with the yellow layers so that it became one image. As last step I did add my name.                        * Voor deze bladwijzer heb ik de 'combineren' tool van Cricut Design Space gebruikt. Hierdoor kun je nieuwe vormen creëren. Ik heb de knop 'Verenigen' gebruikt om de twee gele delen van de potloodvormen samen te voegen tot één groter potlood (kleine opmerking; de lagen kunnen van positie veranderen). Vervolgens heb ik de ogen verenigd met de gele lagen zodat het één illustratie werd. Als laatste stap heb ik mijn naam toegevoegd.

Because I had a wooden bookmark for my second example, I used heat transfer vinyl. Heat Transfer Vinyl sticks much better on wood and provides a professional look.                        * Omdat ik voor mijn tweede voorbeeld een houten boekenlegger had, gebruikte ik flex. Heat Transfer Vinyl plakt veel beter op hout en zorgt voor een professionele uitstraling.

These happy colors really make my heart jumps up and down. It's great as a teacher gift or simply for your own.                        * Deze vrolijke kleuren laten mijn hart echt op en neer springen. Het is geweldig als cadeau voor een leraar of gewoon voor jezelf.

Making a Sticker Sheet

Hello everyone, today I’m using my cricut to make a sticker sheet and I will explain how you can do that.                        * Hallo allemaal, vandaag gebruik ik mijn cricut om een ​​stickervel te maken en ik zal uitleggen hoe je het moet doen.

For the stickers I used a lot of retro SVG's from Printable Cutable Creatables (the ‘Vintage Roller Skates’, ‘Hippie Sunglasses Retro’, ‘Hippie Van Front Retro’, ‘Hippie Guitar Retro’, ‘Mom Retro Titles’ SVG Files and the ‘Spring Gingham Check' Seamless Patterns & Digital Paper Pack).                        * Voor de stickers heb ik veel retro SVG's van Printable Cutable Creatables gebruikt (de 'Vintage Roller Skates', 'Hippie Sunglasses Retro', 'Hippie Van Front Retro', 'Hippie Guitar Retro', 'Mom Retro Titles' SVG Files en de 'Spring Gingham Check' pattern & digitaal papierpakket).

Before you start, calibrate your machine for ‘Print Then Cut’. This ensures the machine will cut precisely along the edge of your printed images. Don’t skip this step! This step is really important to do before you print the sticker sheet!                        * Alvorens je begint, kan je best je machine kalibreren voor 'Print Then Cut'. Dit zorgt ervoor dat de machine precies langs de rand van je afgedrukte afbeeldingen snijdt. Sla deze stap niet over! Deze stap is echt belangrijk voordat je het stickervel print!

First I will tell you how I made the background of the sheet.                        * Eerst zal ik je vertellen hoe ik de achtergrond van het blad heb gemaakt.

1. Upload the preferred paper (I used the ‘Spring Gingham Check’) and I did cut it in a rectangular shape.                        * 1. Upload het gewenste papier (ik heb de 'Spring Gingham Check' gebruikt) en sneed het in een  rechthoekige vorm.
   
   
2. Delete the overspill and color the black shape white. Do not move the white layer, because we need them to be perfectly on top of each other. Cut the white frame, so that you have a small strip left. Next delete the overspill.                        * 2. Verwijder het overtollige stuk van het digitaal papier en kleur de zwarte vorm wit. Verplaats de witte laag niet, want we hebben ze nog nodig (we willen ze perfect op elkaar laten liggen). Knip het witte frame uit, zodat je een klein strookje overhoudt. Verwijder vervolgens opnieuw het overtollige.
   
   
3. Use the “flatten” button to make them as one image. If you want, you can write a text on the white  piece and use the flatten button again.                        * 3. Gebruik de knop "flatten" om de vorm als één afbeelding te maken. Als je wil, kun je ook een tekst op het witte stuk schrijven en opnieuw de flatten-knop gebruiken.

Let’s make the stickers…                        * Laten we de stickers maken...

1.       Upload all illustrations and mark them as linetype: ‘print and cut’. Then add the Offset feature to make lines around the illustrations. The distance is 0,30 cm (or 0,118 inch), but you can make the outline as big as you want.                        * 1. Upload alle illustraties en gebruik het als bediening: ‘printen en snijden’. Voeg vervolgens de Offset-functie toe om lijnen rond de illustraties te maken. De afstand op mijn stickervel is 0,30 cm (of 0,118 inch), maar je kunt de omtrek zo groot maken als je wil.
   
   
2. Give the offset a white color. Make sure all images with their offset are flattened if it hasn’t already been.                        * 2. Geef de offset een witte kleur. Zorg ervoor dat alle afbeeldingen met hun offset als laag aan elkaar zijn vastgemaakt, als dit nog niet is gebeurd.
   
   
3.  Flatten all illustrations into a whole. Once all your stickers are ready, click Make It. Now you can print and cut your sticker sheet. I’m cutting the sheet as a ‘washi tape’.                        * 3. Maak alle illustraties nog eens vast tot één geheel. Zodra al je stickers klaar zijn, klik je op Make It. Nu kun je je stickervel printen en uitknippen. Ik snij het vel als een ‘washi tape’. 

Little extra info: In a few parts in Belgium we celebrate Mother’s day on the 15th of August. That’s why I loved the ‘Mom’ sticker in the sheet.                        * Een kleine beetje extra info: In een paar delen van België vieren we Moederdag op 15 augustus. Daarom hield ik van de 'Mom'-sticker in het vel.

NND Release: Day 1

Welcome to the kickoff of the Newton's Nook Design Release. We start this fun release with a "Classy Teachers" stamp set, because it's the perfect time to prepare cards for the new teachers in the beginning of the schoolyear.                    * Welkom op de aftrap van de Newton's Nook Design Release. I really like these big items in their hands. It's a nice follow up on ladies from the "Big Wishes" stamp set. Of course these two cards need a back to school theme.                    * Natuurlijk hebben deze twee kaarten een 'back to school' thema nodig.

The first card was created with typical school colors and a note paper. I love that Jennifer designed the messages so that they can fit in the chalk board. If you stamp the text with embossing power, it really give that fun look off chalk!                    * De eerste kaart is gemaakt met typische schoolkleuren en schrijfpapier. Ik vind het geweldig dat Jennifer de teksten zo heeft ontworpen zodat ze in het krijtbord passen. Als je de tekst met embossing poeder stempelt, geeft het echt die leuke look van krijt!

The second card was made so it looks more like a little note book.                    * De tweede kaart is gemaakt zodat het meer lijkt op een klein notitieboekje.

When I started making the cards I really wanted to use the label from the "Framework" die set. I think it's perfect on this card as focal point for a little message.                    * Wanneer ik begon met het maken van de kaarten, wilde ik vanaf het begin het label van de "Framework" die set gebruiken.
