Going on a Trip

Here I am again with a new post for Carlijn Design.                        * Hier ben ik weer met een nieuwe post voor Carlijn Design. 

As you can see, today I am using the new set from Jocelijne Design; the "Caravan" die set.                        * Zoals je kan zien, gebruik ik vandaag de nieuwe Jocelijne Design snijmal set "Caravan".

I enjoyed challenging myself this time and wanted not to create a vacation card. Secretly I think the idea of ​​using the caravan for a retirement card is great!                        * Ik vond het deze keer leuk om mezelf uit te dagen en er geen vakantie kaarten van te maken. Stiekem vind ik het idee om de caravan te gebruiken voor een pesioenskaart geweldig!

I could also make a cute birthday card with the set. I used the cupcake from the "Gnome set 2 Feest", with that the caravan looks like a small cupcake shop. Perfect to enjoy for a birthday.                        * Ik kon er ook een leuke verjaardagskaart met maken. Hierbij gebruikte ik de cupcake van de "Gnome set 2 Feest", hierdoor lijkt die caravan net een klein cupcake winkeltje. Perfect om te gaan smikkelen voor een verjaardag.

Hopefully I gave you fun ideas to use this set. I'm already completely sold!                        * Hopelijk gaf ik jullie hiermee leuke ideetjes. Ik ben alvast weer helemaal verkocht!

   

   

Back From America: Michaels Haul

As you followed me on instagram, you probably knew I was a month in America for my vacation. It was an amazing trip; I saw a lot of pretty places, friendly people and my best crafty friend Nina-Marie... It was so much fun to be able to see her for a few days on the trip. Nina-Marie is really as adorable as you would expect, we had a wonderfull time. We did some whale watching, a helicopter trip and so much more. It was very painfull to leave too...                * Als je me op instagram hebt gevolgd, wist je waarschijnlijk dat ik een maand in Amerika was voor mijn vakantie. Het was een geweldige reis; Ik zag veel mooie plekken, vriendelijke mensen en mijn beste creatieve vriendin Nina-Marie ontmoet... Het was zo leuk om haar een paar dagen op de reis te kunnen zien. Nina-Marie is echt super vriendelijk zoals je zou verwachten, we hadden een geweldige tijd. We hebben wat walvissen gezien, een helikoptervlucht gedaan en nog veel meer. Het was dus ook erg jammer om te vertrekken ...

 Of course, as you can see on the picture, we also did visit Michaels (a super big craft store). Below I have a little post with all the things I bought.                * Natuurlijk, zoals je op de foto kunt zien, hebben we ook Michaels bezocht (een super grote knutsel winkel). Hieronder heb ik een klein berichtje met alle dingen die ik heb gekocht.

1. A silicone holder: I’m so glad I found this for my "Fuse Tool".                * 1. Een siliconen houder: Ik ben zo blij dat ik dit heb gevonden voor mijn "Fuse Tool".
2. Spellbinders diamond: this is such an easy and great tool for dies that are hanging around your craft table. This diamond is magnetic so it attracts all the dies that are on your craft table.                * 2. Spellbinders diamant: dit is zo'n makkelijk en geweldig gereedschap voor matrijzen die rondslingeren op de tafel. Deze diamant is magnetisch, zodat het alle snijmallen aantrekt die op je werktafel liggen.
3. Spatula’s and faom brush: I really didn’t want to pay a lot for spatula’s and these where only 1$ really cheap!                * 3. Spatels en foam brush: Ik wilde niet echt veel betalen voor spatels en deze waren slechts 1$ echt goedkoop!
4. Sizix adhesive masks. I really was looking for a bigger size of masking paper.                * 4. Sizix adhesive masks. Ik was echt op zoek naar een groter formaat van maskerend papier.
5. Banners; this was just something that I saw and thought it would be fun to make something with.                * 5. Banners; Dit was gewoon iets dat ik zag hangen en ik vond het meteen leuk om iets mee te maken.
6. Hangers and clips: I’m so excited to use it with the banners or make something to display some cards I receive from friends.                * 6. Hangers en clips: Ik ben zo enthousiast om deze met de banners te gebruiken of om iets te maken om kaartjes die ik van vrienden krijg te tonen.
7. Thim Holtzs clock: I was so happy when I saw that clock. I was looking for that thing for a long time, I really want to make small scenes for Halloween, Christmas, valentine,... in the clock.                * 7. Thim Holtzs klok: Ik was zo blij toen ik die klok zag. Ik was al zo lang op zoek naar dat ding, ik wil echt kleine scènes maken voor Halloween, Kerstmis, Valentijn, ... in die klok.

13. Felt in a variety of colors; I couldn’t find cheap, pretty and easy to cut true felt in my country. I’m so excited to try to cut in these pretty colors.                * 13. Vilt in verscheidenheid aan kleuren; ik vond nooit mooi, goedkoop, en makkelijk te snijden vilt. Ik ben zo enthousiast om deze kleurtjes te proberen.

I also bought and got some halloween things as gift from Nina-Marie. I will show that in an other post later this month. See you on Wednesday!.                * Ik heb ook wat halloween dingen gekregen als cadeau van Nina-Marie en gekocht. Dat zal dat later in deze maand laten zien. Tot woensdag!

 

Thailand

Today I would love to share some pictures from the highlights from our vacation. My boyfriend and I traveled for one month around in Thailand, we saw: Bangkok, Kanchanaburi, Ayutthaya, Chiang Mai, Sukhothai, Krabi and Ko Lanta. *Vandaag wil ik graag enkele foto's van de hoogtepunten van onze vakantie delen. Mijn vriend en ik reisden één maand rond in Thailand, we zagen: Bangkok, Kanchanaburi, Ayutthaya, Chiang Mai, Sukhothai, Krabi en Koh Lanta.

We started our trip in the big city, Bangkok. These two pictures are form some of the things we saw (Grand Palace and Wat Pho). First we loved it because there was a lot to see and everything was new (manner of eating, the monks,...). At the end of the vacation, we didn't like Bangkok a lot. We loved to see it's culture, but the streets are very dirty, it's an expensive city in comparison with the other cities and there is another atmosphere than in the other parts of the country. *We begonnen onze reis in de grote stad, Bangkok. Deze twee foto's zijn van enkele dingen die we zagen (Grand Palace en Wat Pho). Eerst vonden we het geweldig, want er was veel te zien en alles was nieuw (manier van eten, de monniken, ...). Aan het einde van de vakantie, vonden we Bangkok niet zo wauw. We hielden van de cultuur die er te zien is, maar de straten zijn erg vies, het is een dure stad in vergelijking met de andere steden en er is een andere sfeer dan in de andere delen van het land.

Sukhothai and Chiang Mai we liked the most. In Sukhothai you can see a super pretty historical park. We took a bike for two days to see these old monuments. We really loved the fact there where almost no tourist!! Chiang Mai was for us special because we did a 4 day walking/adventures trour with a guide in the mountains and slept by local people. *Sukhothai en Chiang Mai vonden we het leukst. In Sukhothai kun je een super mooi historisch park zien. We namen een fiets voor twee dagen om deze oude monumenten te zien. We hielden echt van het feit dat er bijna geen toeristen waren!! Chiang Mai was voor ons bijzonder omdat we 4 dagen wandelden / een avonturen trip hadden met een gids in de bergen en bij de lokale bevolking sliepen.

Of course the one thing we will miss the most is the food. You can't imagine how delicious the thai-kitchen is. Even in the places that don't look eatable, you still get yummy food (and no sickness after haha). *Het ding dat we echt het meest zullen missen is het eten. Je kunt je niet voorstellen hoe lekker de thai-keuken is. Zelfs op de plaatsen die niet eetbaar uitzien, krijg je heerlijk eten (en geen ziektes erna haha).

It was an amazing experience!!& I hope to tell you more soon when I show you new scrapbook projects I will make in future. *Het was een geweldige ervaring!! & ik hoop jullie binnenkort meer te vertellen wanneer ik je nieuwe scrapbook projecten toon, die ik in de toekomst zal maken.
 

My trip to Egypt

 

ENG: Hey sweeties, I wasn't blogging for two weeks. I like to tell you about my trip to Egypt. My boyfriend gave me this vacation as a surprise; it was so sweet of him.

NL: Hey iedereen, jullie hebben me 2 weken moeten missen. Mijn vriend gaf me een reisje naar Egypte als cadeau (wat lief)! Vandaag wil ik jullie daarom graag mijn ervaringen met Egypte vertellen.

 

Eng: The old Egyptian culture is amazing! I loved all these pretty statues, temples, tombs,... Although it was very hot (40°C) to walk around, I enjoyed every single bit of it.

NL: Natuurlijk is de oude Egyptische cultuur prachtig om te zien! Ik hield van alle beelden, tempels, tombes,... Zelfs wanneer het te warm (40°C) was om rond te lopen, ik genoot er elke minuut van.

 

ENG: I love to experience the current cultures too. That's why we tried for the first time "Sisha" (water pipe). Maybe it sounds silly, but for me it wasn't a pleasant feeling; I felt dizzy doing it lol. Probably this was the first and last time I do this  haha.

NL: Ik houd er ook van om de huidige culturen te beleven. Daarom besloten we om voor de eerste keer de "Shisha" (waterpijp) uit te proberen. Misschien is het een beetje stom, maar ik vond het maar niets; ik werd er duizelig van lol. Waarschijnlijk was het de eerste en ook de laatste keer haha.

ENG: As last excursion we did a boat trip  for snorkeling. The first stop was dolphin spot to watch dolphins swim near our boat. I was so happy to see these dolphins!! It's one of my dreams to swim with dolphins, so I was very happy a dolphin group swum underneath us while we were snorkeling a few hours later on that trip. It's almost swimming with them!!!

 NL: Onze laatste excursie was een boottrip om te snorkelen. De eerste stop was een dolfijnenplek waar we dolfijnen dicht bij de boot konden spotten. Ik was super blij om ze te zien!!! Het is een droom om met dolfijnen te zwemmen, daarom was ik helemaal in de wolken toen we ze een paar uur later onder ons zagen zwemmen toen we snorkelden. Het is bijna hetzelfde als met ze zwemmen niet?!!

ENG: There will be soon some projects about my trip, with more stories to tell.

NL: Er zullen snel layouts gemaakt worden van deze trip, met nog meer verhalen om te vertellen.

10 Photographytips

Today I become 22 years old, time to party :)

I love to travel and making pictures is for me a part of my vacation! Two weeks ago

I went to Germany with my boyfriend. This time I was experimenting with my 

photo camera for my vacation-project life-album. I like to share my 10 tips with you:

1. Take pictures by looking up and down.

2. Take a picture by your point of view.

 

3. Don't forget to make a picture of yourself. Ask someone
or when there is nobody else put the camera on a rock, on the
ground,... and take a picture of yourself!

4. Dare to take pictures without flash in dark spaces (you can
see more of the atmosphere on the second photo). 

5. Do always have your camera nearby.

6. Sow the overall view of the environment.

7. These clocks on the corners disturb the first picture. 

It's better to show how much there is of something.

8. Play with the perspectives. This photo is something different than 

a plate with food on, but you still see went to a restaurant.

9. Make a record of the funny moments

I'm Back

I'm back!!

My top 3 picutes of the vacation are:

 1 - GR 20
The view on the mountains in de morning while walking
(7a clock). Unfortunately we only walked 3 stages, because we
encountered a record of rainwater.

 2 - Family graves
The inhabitants of Corse bury people in family graves, I think 
it's a nice way of remembering your siblings.

3 - Corsican nature
After walking we just enjoyed the nature and sun from the
beachchair.

I told you about the questions I had to answer during my vacation.

Here they are:

• What are you reading right now? Trotter, to see what we are going to do tomorrow
• What's the best part of today? Getting the train to Vizzavona (GR 20), with beautiful mountain views.
•  What is my mission today? survive the first stage and hold the motivation for the next day 
• What was the last restaurant you went to? Just before we went on vacation and I'm missing this (the food is iewk potato and beans and meat as e stew).
• Today was tough because? We had no breakfast and we only walked in the rain and wind.
• Was today typical? (Why or why not?) We stopped the GR20 because of the rain and we only  hiked down of the mountain.
• Write down something that inspired you today. To arrive in Bonafacio, it immidiatly gave a vacation-feeling; seeing the sun!
• On a scale of one to ten, how was your food? 10/10 In the morning, egg with bacon (yammii). In the afternoon a baguette with some cheese  (like a real Frenchman) and in the evening Salmon with a salad
• What can you smell right now? Fresh melon (Yum)
• What's your favorite accessory? The trunk of the car we use as chair because we don't have one.
• Today you lost... the attraction of the mosquitoes  (I am full of mosquito bites, I hope it stopped by an insect spray)
• How happy are you? Medium happy, there is nothing cultural in Corse, but the beautiful nature makes things good.
• What was peaceful today? the view of the rocky cliffs from the pool.
• What was the most unique moment of the vacation? The last day of the GR20, amazing view of the mountains (see picture 1)
